While this is mostly tongue in cheek, it also might look really smart in about 10 years…

Since we’ve apparently already accepted mediocrity in the football program…why not embrace that and throw resources towards men’s soccer?

None of us old timers will like that, but my view is that due to NIL/portal mess college football as we knew it is dead…we just don’t get it yet.

Having attended a MLS game in Atlanta recently I realize that soccer is here to stay and growing in popularity fast.

We could establish our dynasty now. Pull resources from football, hire a coach from Germany or Brazil, expand the soccer stadium and be set up as THE National power as soccer takes over. Given the Hispanic population in NWA it won’t be hard to find fans.

It’s as good a bet as trying to fix the mess that is Arkansas football.

Because soccer doesn’t have a 70k+ seat stadium and even if they put them in the football stadium wouldn’t fill it.

And let’s say the median ticket price is $50 bucks. That’s $3.5M x 6 (should be 8 games) reasons not to do that.

That’s why empty stadiums get coaches fired. That isn’t taking into concessions money you bring in, or cost to actually operate the stadium. But let’s say the concessions cover the operations cost. That’s $21M worth of reasons why we need a coach that actually has balls and needs to win, not winning would be icing on the cake.

Soccer will never be a thing in the US as long as football is around. Not enough scoring. Americans like scoring .

Soccer sucks as a sport. It's just kicking the ball back and forth until someone actually tries to maintain possession and score. The flopping and rolling around like you are dying is getting progressively worse in football too, but makes soccer unwatchable.

Now you're talking! The hockey team has been damn good. I've bought some of their stuff to support them.

Men’s soccer would be cool, we could easily pull some scholarships from football since we’re not serious about competing for anything.

Hockey’s basically soccer but actually fun to watch so this could be a decent idea.

I’d rather go all in on hockey or lacrosse. Like easily.

I watched them at the Jones Center.

I think they have two teams but only of them is really good.
