Lining up in the shotgun on 4th and 1/2 yard with Kj "fricking" Jefferson is a crime.

Fire everyone involved. On the spot.

Enos is a terrible play caller.

His obsession with the slow developing runs is maddening.

Maybe he’s obsessed with them because our OL couldn’t blow a fly off the ball at the snap

I mean to be fair that had to be last thing the defense thought we would do.....it certainly was the last thing I thought we would do.

Luckily for BYU there was plenty of time to figure it out though

Maybe he should stop calling these bunch formations on 4th and short thus allowing the defense to crowd the box.

Spread them the frick out inside of bunching them all in together.

That was a delay of game on the offense. We got very unlucky there.

Same as last year, shootout ugly at times.

Try and wear them down in the 4th.

I took a couple of days to cool off before my rant.... so here it goes:

1. Why in the heck don't we have a quick huddle, hurry to the ball, QB sneak? 4th and a half yard and we go gun, motion, check with me for 30 seconds, and run a scat back who likes to dance in the hole.

2. I'm remembering everything I didn't like about Enos. His passing offense is really good, but he won't use it until desparation time and even then he completely ignores the obvious..... How many shot plays did we take all night? I'll be glad to be corrected, but the answer is less than 3 if I counted right.... you HAVE to take the top off the defense.

3. I don't care who it is, after a certain amount of holding calls on the same guy you HAVE to get him out of the game.

4. O-line..... this performance is squarely on their shoulders.... can't blame the backs this week. This group isn't as bad as advertised, they are worse.... clear now why Braun transferred from FLA... he's terrible.... yet good enough to start for us? wow

5. Sam does not have the killer instinct to win games like this... we had a 2 score lead multiple times in this game and either got conservative or hit the self destruct button. He is going to have to coach against his own tendencies or he will be out of a job.

6. Lost in all of this is that the defense still played pretty well. Well enough to win easily but the offense kept putting them in bad situations. Outside of the busted assignment on the trick play I can live with how they played. On the long touchdown run the DE crossed the face of the kickout block instead of taking in on and letting Pooh fill. If he does that right it's probably a 5 yard gain and we line up and go again.

7. This is not where we should be year 4 with a veteran QB. Clearly Enos was a bad hire and his offense is showing that it didn't age well at all.

I'm not saying we can't get it together and right the ship but geez this was a bad loss going into our tough stretch. After how we played in this one I'm having a hard time seeing 6 wins.

I'm pretty sure we've done the same stuff every time we've gone for it on 4th down this year.

Shotgun snap, with a 250lb QB, and hand it off in the backfield.

That is stuff Jr. High coaches understand.

Sam has none. He has folksy "turn that juke box up" shite that a huge portion of our fanbase adores, and will retweet, and even buy t-shirts saying it.

He is always telling the players what good kids they are.

He never gets up in anybody's asses about anything. Have we ever seen it?

He came here to retire, and he's already mentally there.

Another season with Pittman is wasted time, which means we will probably give him another season.

Well lord no he isn’t leaving. He’s got a 3 million dollar bonus coming December 2024.

quote:

Pittman is not scheduled to actually receive his first retention payment until Dec. 31, 2024, when he would be entitled to a total of $3.3 million. However, if he is fired before that date for any reason — including a contract violation — or if he retires, he would be owed an amount based on the number days he had worked under the new agreement. Pittman would forfeit the accrued retention pay amount only if he left Arkansas for another coaching, recruiting or analyst job.

If he retired this year he’d walk away from 1.6 million iof that retention bonus. He ain’t going anywhere.

It’s broke down

2022 - 1 million
2023 - 1.6 million
2024 1.6 Million

Bad move to let him get another year.

Breaking in a new QB and losing quite a bit on defense.
