He has turf toe… Little Rock strikes again.

Tore my ACL there in 1993. I know it’s different turf now but still, think we should be playing in natural turf on The Hill

How bad? Some turf toe is 1 or 2 weeks some is as bad as a month

It'll nag him all year.

Probably not. It's a multiple weeks long deal and a can reinjure it very easily especially with change of direction type athletes.
It's the worst nagging injury for football players.

He suited up or practiced all week… only went a series.. idk it was a vague throw away comment during Pittmans postgame press conference because he kept getting lit up about his shitty lines, but he has been doing this for “34 years” I know about lines.

Pittman said he'll be back this week but we all know how it goes with Pittman and injury stuff.

yep, you hate him as coach... Thread isn't about the line bro!

I do. He is mediocre at best. But he was mad being asked about the line and only said Nudie had turf toe. So it all goes together… you know context and things.

Dude... You truly hate him? Your the only person I have had to admit it.
Crazy to me man. Nobody, nobody wanted this position at all. After Smile, Bert, and Chard... Nobody with attached brain cells would consider it other than Pittman.
He took it cheap to begin with and brought us outta the abyss of hell. We are more stable, recruiting a little better, and he isn't afraid to let go of his coaches. He fired 2, let Barry go to UNLV.. He knew it was past time.
I don't get the hatred is all.

As a person? No.
As a coach? Yes. I believe he is mediocre. I said since we hired him. He will be a Houston Nutt. He will be a rah rah coach that the whole state rally’s behind everyone will love him. He will get our recruiting up. But he won’t be a winner like Bobby.
Is he an upgrade from Bert and Chad? Without a doubt. But he is going to win just enough that half our fan base stays on his side forever.

The thing that sealed it for me is his blown leads and playing not to lose instead of playing to set new records in passing yards, touchdowns etc.. anything other than being up 41-3 at half then letting the other team score the entire second half and scraping out with a 44-31 win.
I dislike this strategy, almost as much as I hate prevent or bend don’t break defenses.

How many coaches do you see constantly throwing the ball up 41-3 though? It's just as likely interceptions happen or the clock stops enough to let the other team back in it more than trying to milk the clock would.
I've never understood blaming his philosophy for letting Kansas come back on us when we called a reverse (a risky, aggressive playcall) trying to salt the game away and the refs made a bad call to let them get the ball back on the fumble. We were well on our way to scoring on that drive and it being a blowout.

Mediocre but stable is what we needed at the time. I think he has a low ceiling as well but he has been a good stopgap. Now we’re kinda stuck with him. It’s year 4. Did anyone think he’d be here long term?

Speaking of... that turf looked like folks have been taking their dogs out there to pee on it. Yellow dead spots everywhere.

I don't see him anything other than an average coach which is fine and Arkansas needs some mediocre years.
That's good because when Sam is gone most likely after next year, Arkansas will be in a better situation for an upgrade.

It's sad that Arkansas football is regulated to praising the likes of Nutt and Petrino when both haven't done anything significant here to be worthy of such praise.
Both got fired and embarrassed the school and the state.
I really hope that Sam has a banger year and so we can stop talking them and start talking about a winner for just once this time.
