So how does Saban and the staff fix it?

I know we are all doom and gloom right now after this loss. But the season is still young and we have talent.

So what can the coaching staff do to correct the issues.

My thoughts as a lowly couch-QB/fan:

1. Take a long look at what we have at QB. Milroe had some good moments but as others have said he panics too early and doesn't seem to be able to read defenses. Do we open up the QB role and see who can give us the best chance at winning? We have South Florida next which should be a win, but do we risk demoralizing the team by playing 3 QB's and possibly struggling or do we try to build Milroe up and ride him?

2. Get 71 off the OL asap. He is a liability. Too many times he has cost us big plays.

3. We have to find a pass rusher that doesn't disappear in big games. Turner and Braswell were nowhere to be found tonight.

4. Again on the D. We got beat too many times over the top and teams are just going to exploit that unless the safeties learn to stop biting on underneath routes so early.

I'd love to have a civil discussion to see what can be done to make this a successful season.

I don’t know if you can fix the oline. We have a left tackle that should be at right tackle as a true freshman, a center who has thrown double digit snaps in the dirt since he’s been at Bama and a matador at RG. We don’t seem to have a stud RB to lean on. The only thing that can make this team win out is going to a RPO with lots of rollouts so that Milroe can either run or throw easy passes and then set up deep balls off of dropback RPO.

I thought the defense played a lot better until a point in which they seemed to fall apart. They hit better and made some good plays on balls in the air.

You are right about the dangers of just jumping from QB to QB. It can do a lot of damage to the psychology of players. I still think that Buchner should get a very hard look. But, Jalen is going to start next week and do some good things against inferior talent. He did too many decent things to end up getting yanked. That is not how real coaches do things.

O-line, I have no clue about them. That is such a disappointment.

Just hold on tight this year and hope Sayin is game ready from the jump next year.

If Sayin is smart he will probably open up his recruiting for a different team tomorrow.

Saban is a guy who brought back BOB and Golding for another year. He has no interest in fixing anything

Yeah really. How many 4-5 stars does Saban expect to ride the pine after watching this tonight?

He’d be an idiot not to. Milroe is the starter until he graduates. Doesn’t matter if Sayin comes in and torches the defense in practice.

Our OLB not getting to the quarterback sounds like poor DEVELOPMENT by the OLB coach.

It's been a major decline from the Tosh days as a coach.

We've seen enough of Milroe.

Play Buchner a half next week and Simpson a half. Stick with who looks competent going forward.

Trotting Milroe back out there is the definition of insanity.

I mean, not being able to snap the ball or competently blocking is either a talent issue or development issue. I think it's the latter because no way can you misevaluate THAT many players.

I would play Amos over Arnold. Arnold got owned on the deep ball and had the PI.

The Oline will get better if we don’t become one dimensional.
