Defense looked better until it didn't

Not sure if was Sark's play calling or we just run out of gas. But the fourth quarter was the true surprising thing of the night. We could get off the field at all.
I still think clearly everything is more organized and better than under golding. And I will chalk this up too getting gassed from basically playing the entire first half

Absolutely zero pass rush...when is the last time we had no sacks?

It’s not Golding, this system breaks down too often against high powered offenses. 38 passes, 1 pressure, 0 sacks. shite even Golding couldn’t have dialed that up.

Yeah he struggled when we pressured, but then stopped

Great pressure against MTSU with blitzes, but almost no pressure against Texas. Bizarre. Especially considering the fact that Ewers sucks against pressure.

Defense was hitting better, gang tackling, and showing a lot of emotion. They made a couple key stops. They were put in a bunch of bad situations early. The fourth quarter was embarrassing though. That was a complete regression. Hopefully it was just exhaustion.

Nothing is more infuriating then their propensity to play mostly good defense for large chunks at a time, bail out the offense time after time, but the moment the offense puts them in position to play free and hunt for turnovers, they fall apart. It's baffling and it's been so consistent the last year that I don't know how to even evaluate it

I think it’s a combination of both. Sark knew he had us on the ropes.

There were a LOT of quick throws to avoid pressure tonight

I honestly think we are better. Just a combination of on the field too much in the first half and sark just doing his thing with a veteran o line.
But hard to argue the fourth quarter defense looked last year.
Granted I didn't see any delayed blitzes coming from the bleachers

I agree if we had a functional offense and we actually score the first half this game could have changed but we are in desperate need of a QB.

It’ll be interesting to see what happened to downs when he threw up and missed a few series. The defense wasn’t the same after that. Not even when he came back in.

Been spoiled for awhile with elite QBs. We have now returned to normalcy.
