Time to turn the page to the California Bears. I know nothing about them I know they exploded on offense but week 1 doesn’t tell me much.
For Auburn our defensive front needs to continue to get better.
The front 3 should be Harris, Rogers, and Kite getting 45-50 snaps. McLeod will probably be back to help the 4 man rush. The coaches know best but Nixon and Asante look like the best combo of middle backers to me.
The OL looks solid not dominant. Thorne protected the football and I want to see the QB and WRs get in a groove together. Should see more than 17 passes from Thorne this next week. I think for another couple weeks you see lean on the run game to protect the defense. But I expect throw to throw 30ish passes maybe more depending on how the Bears play the RPO. Thorne had 2 beautiful passes that showed great placement and touch the post to Fair for the TD and the corner route to Var on the sideline. Interested in seeing what the Robby package looks like other then keep off left end. I think he could hit some inside power off a jet motion with an empty backfield.
Anyway my way to early prediction is 38-23 Auburn. Looks like a solid win but think we play poorly just have some big plays outside of offense like some turnovers for the defense, hidden yards on special teams, kicking game flipping the field and such.

I watched about 1 1/2 qtrs of that Cal/North Texas game and they’ve got some athletes. They pretty much dominated that team at their place and UNT is a much better program than UMass. We will have our hands full in Berkeley this weekend.

100% agree.
I would caution everyone not to take this game lightly. I actually don't feel good about this game.

Flyin across the country and 3 time zones is just not a easy thing for this type of game. Cal will come to play. We had better clean up things

That will help them get adjusted. I agree no excuses. According to some here, this team will compete for the West. If that is the case, we should not be concerned about Cal.

Yea that’s how I use to feel, but then I realized we actually have a head coach who cares and is taking everything seriously. This isn’t Gus or Harsin. I feel confident that we will win by two touchdowns.

Why are you bringing Gus into this? Freeze can beat Bama and then lose to Memphis. Gus has always been more "serious" than that.

We will probably give up more points that I would want, but there is no reason we don't win this by a couple of touchdowns. 38-21
