Bama has a winning record in Tiger Stadium (16-5), and undefeated in New Orleans (1-0).

Such a strange series for the home team. Especially a heated one that is played yearly. Your odds increase precipitously as the away team.

I think my numbers are right, but feel free to double check me. I started with '81

but why would you leave out the 20 games prior to '81 in BR where you only won 4?

speaking of strange.

Why? What significance is 43 years?

Beginning of the end for the Bear Bryant era.

(I know 82' was the last year)

When I started watching football, really. Also, the first full decade of desegregated football.

80's to now is always what I consider the modern era of football

When I went to the 00's, it was about the same as far as results

in this millenium 00-present:

Bama 7-5 in BR

LSU 6-5 in Tuscaloosa

Fact still remains.

That's a fairly impressive, and telling, bit of trivia.

So Coach Bryant didn't coach in the "modern era", huh?

Premodern era. Doesn’t really translate.

In my opinion? No.

You see, because I said:

Tricky things, words. . .

Now. . .do you think Bear Bryant is a "modern era" coach? Because I don't think I have spoken to anyone that thinks that.

More of a Silver Age (50's through the 70's) relic of the segregated era, in my honest estimation.

How about running down the MAJOR changes to the game that have transpired since the 60s that would give the game the reason to change "eras".

So many panties in a wad here. I too often use 1980 for records because it's my birth year. Anything prior means less to me

1) Desegregation

2) I don't need a #2

Desegregation started under Bryant. But, as I said, the 80's were the first fully desegregated decade in college football.

I mean, so there's that. . .

Something like 17 of LSU's 27 wins in the series were played in the state of Alabama.

That really isn't true. Most teams outside the south were pretty desegregated by the 1970s and once the southern teams started desegregating circa 1970... it happened really quickly in the south.

I'd say that the whole of CFB was pretty desegregated by about '75 to a degree where many of the star players were Black guys.

What's happened since the '80s is that the teams have become more progressively Black in terms of scholarship/two deep players.

In the '80s we still had elite teams with quite a few White guys on defense. We really don't anymore.

#1) Check out Alabama's record against integrated teams in the 60s (that's before Alabama integrated its football),
2) and in the 70s (they integrated in'71)....now what was all that bloviating about?

Since 2024, LSU has to change their rivalries to former SWC teams due to geographic location.
