Did I read that right that he's projected as the #2 in LA rather than third string? If true, that alone shows he's working out well in the NFL.

Yes, and a some around the Rams program are projecting him to start either late this season or be their projected starter going into next season.

Projected to beat out (checks notes) Brett Rypien and Dresser Winn for the backup job?

What’s even more impressive is that he hasn’t been arrested in LA yet!

There are plenty of experienced backups available in the NFL as free agents. Guys like Carson Wentz, Matt Ryan, Teddy Bridgewater, Nick Foles and the like. Not to mention other experienced backups that signed already that they could have gotten if they felt the need (Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield, Marcus Mariota, etc).

Going with a rookie for your #2 without bothering to bring in an experienced guy is a sign of confidence in the rookie. and a good sign for that player's future.

Stetson Bennett going to have an AJ McCarron type career. He will start in spots and always be a popular signing as a backup.

AJ did have an opportunity to start a few years back on a bad Texans team I believe but immediately got injured.

Expect Stet to do the same. Hopefully he has better luck.

Or Chase Daniel or Charlie Whitehurst.

Damn fine career to have if you can manage it. Over a million dollars a year for over a decade to practice and throw some pre-season passes.

Especially when the starting qb has a bad back and bad elbow and a shite offensive line. If he’s in fact the two, they expect him to start some games this year.

All the same age as Bennett but cost more for veteran minimum than a rookie contract.

I'm not surprised one bit. SB is a stud QB athlete. The way he commanded his offense with this arm and legs is how I wanted Bryce Young to play.

According to "sources" they're so confident that they're going to get rid of all other quarterbacks and also he's also going to call plays and be assistant head coach. People are saying this.
