Josh Pate video.

Main points:

-Frustration on the SEC violating a gentleman's agreement understandable.

-Don't complain that this will be the "new Big 12". Texas won't run shite and you are at an even playing field with them. If you frick it up then that is on your own program.

-Stop with the "battered Aggie sybdrome". You are not a victim.

I like Pate.

It was not in A&M's best interest to let them in, but what's done is done. He's of course correct that this isn't anything like the old Big 12.

Maybe people were upset a year ago when they announced during A&M’s media day.

Read the room (tRant). No one really cares and no one is mad lol.

That remains to be seen. If A&M commences to whooping their arse every year it will have totally in their best interest.

A&M wasnt even notified. They werent even considered when the SEC made the decision. They were so furious they leaked it to the media the same day they found out. Had they not done that, not only would Texas and OU be starting SEC play this upcoming season, but the Big 12 likely wouldve broken up and teams wouldve gotten picked off by other conferences.

This was the second time A&M saved the Big 12 when they declined going to the PAC 12.

We didn’t break the news. Let’s not tweak and revise history to troll Ags now.

Sharp immediately leaked it to the Houston chronicle guy. The SEC, Texas, and OU didnt want it discussed any time soon so ESPN could do behind the scenes work on breaking up the Big 12. If it makes you feel better, it completely screwed us over.

He keeps talking about some huge advantage that Texas has in the Big 12 that A&M apparently just couldn't overcome.

I guess that advantage disappeared with A&M.

That’s not our characterization.

A huge plus for TAMU when we bounced from the B12—a decision that wasn't made lightly—was shoving away from UTex.
It’s no secret: We don’t like them.
Obviously that wasn’t our sole inducement to accepting the SEC invite, but it was certainly gravy.

We were told by the SEC PsTB that the horns wouldn’t be let in.

Fast forward a decade … Had the situation been different, and teams like Clemson, FSU, Miami, Georgia Tech, etc. been invited to join, I’d bet there would’ve been some grumbling from some current SEC members.

What’s done is done.
Onward.

As long as the current structure of D1 exists, Texas being in the SEC is not in our best interest. Candidly us being in the SEC isn’t in horns best interest either. Being able to tell the best recruits in Texas that you are the only team in the state in the best conference in football is huge. Long term it’s irrelevant because we are likely going to see two big conferences with everyone else effectively being FCS.

All that said, I’m excited to have the game back. It was politicians and big money donors keeping it from happening. It’s been nice to have those clowns for both programs have to swallow some pride.

A&M's move to the SEC had a massive impact on college football. The ripples still havent died down. It was a fantastic move and changed the very nature of their program and identity.

If I were A&M, I'd be really pissed about the SEC lying to them and treating them with such disrespect, while also still knowing they are one of realignments biggest winners.

The Houston Chronicle guy has said explicitly that nobody associated with A&M was his source, despite all the internet fodder the contrary.

A lot of horns hated the idea of going to the SEC, and many of them wanted to kill the deal to try to make things happen with the Big 10. Good chance one of those guys leaked it.

Okie and aggy have voted with Texas on everything in the past and will in the future. They will bend the ear of a few schools that haven't won anything since the earth cooled and then the next thing you know SEC championship is held at Jerry World.

I get that Atlanta has “history” but I’m honestly kinda surprised that more don’t want it to move, and if it moves, why not Jerry World?

According to y’all, Texas nor A&M will ever play in the title game, so what’s the downside to having a game on neutral turf?

I think it’s kind of horse shite how it all went down but in the end I understand why it happened the way it did and I’m pumped about playing Texas again.

I do not understand the lame arse Aggies that have the “screw tu I hope we never play them again” outlook. That’s a bitch mentality, imo. It’s like being afraid to run into your ex girlfriend at the bar or something.
