I believe that all people are 99.9-whatever percent more similar than they are different and I feel as if there is too much division in the world.

But every once in a while I'll notice a small trivial differences between races. One of those is African Americans' habit of not taking their shirts off at the beach relative to their caucasian and LatinX counterparts.

My grandparents lived on Jekyll Island and it is a phenomenon (African Americans not taking their shirt off at the beach) when I was probably 3 or 4.

And today I was looking at videos of how blue and clear the water is at Myrtle Beach and all of these years laters the African American beach enthusiasts still had their shirts on. Good for them.

Oh well!

African Americans can get sunburns too. Had an old fishing buddy that was deep dark and I used to used that Goose Grease you got at the PX. When we were fishing he used to borrow it as he got sunburned too.

Was she in the US on a student visa or an American citizen

If she was an American with African ancestors she would be an African American

Some seriously hot blondes in South Africa.

hell I don't know

she was South African!

Never saw her again after summer break began. Tried to look her up online years later and it's almost like she never existed.

She was a rich girl though

While it is true that people with darker skin tones have more natural protection from the sun’s damaging rays than lighter-skinned people, everyone can be affected by the sun’s harmful rays. So contrary to the common myth, African Americans can get sunburn and are at higher risk for skin cancer.[quotte]

May be a reason right there why they protect themselves. Just a hunch though.

Like Americans descended of all ethnic groups and nationalities African Americans should keep a much clothing on as possible at the beach....unfortunately the fatter we get as a nation the fewer clothes we feel compelled to wear in public. If we continue in 20 years 600 pound naked folks will be eerywhere...
