Did UGA and Alabama dodge a bullet by not landing Arch Manning? That bullet may kill Texas

Arch Manning may have lit up the high school ranks with his supremo arm; however, his bulbs have all burned out while at Texas so far.
Steve Sarkisian recently said........
“I feel like I needed to remind everybody — in our spring game, the guy should have been at the Senior Car Wash raising money for prom or something,” Sarkisian said on ESPN's Always College Football podcast with Greg McElroy.
“He still should have been in high school at that game. It was invaluable experience for him to be with us and to get a lot of that newness out.”
Yes, Manning's a long-term investment for the 'Hores, so says Sarkisian, but isn't every 4 and 5-star athlete an investment of some school everywhere else?
I think the Dawgs and Tide will be fine without him and wish him well at Texas.

I think I want some more context. Like the link or something.

He'll be fine .. eventually ... in a different uniform ... in college station!

What the hell are you babbling about? There isn't a single person, including Arch & Cooper, who thought Manning would start or play this season. Georgia wanted him badly, sorry it didn't work out for you.

That doesn't sound like the coach is panicking. It sounds like he's being realistic about an early enrolled true freshman in a spring game.

If he never plays a down at DKR, the investment was worth it with Manning being the catalyst for a #3 class that will be sophomores in 2024.

He’s gonna wind up at Ole Miss and have a second career in holding clipboards.

The highest rated QB in the history of recruiting rankings should be able to start day 1 unless he’s behind a Newton, Burrow, Tebow, Manziel etc.
Ewers isn’t at that level, and if he can’t start over Ewers he’s not the best recruit of all time. Fwiw I don’t even think he was in the Top 5 QB recruits in his own class. I don’t think he’s bad by any means, just not what the recruiting services made him out to be by a long shot.

The Mannings suck. Know why Peyton was 0-3 vs Florida as a starter??? Because he was so bad, he was third String QB when they played UF his Freshman year. Here's the funny part...Manning wasn't even good enough to start the season 3rd string QB...he was 4th string. Here is UT's depth chart at the beginning of the season:
1st string - Jerry Colquitt (injured in the opener vs UCLA)
2nd string - Todd Helton (injured in the 4th game of the season)
3rd string - Branndon Stewart (ahead of Manning on the depth chart until after the Florida game)
4th string - Peyton Manning
You know who dodged a bullet??? Steve Spurrier...Manning was heavily recruited by Florida, but finally chose Tennessee instead. Imagine if Steve Spurrier had been coaching Manning under center...UF wouldn't have ever won a game.
That's just comparing him to Peyton. Eli was so bad, he had to redshirt his Freshman year. Eli couldn't jump ahead of Romeo Miller, who led Ole Miss to a 7-5 record.
Just like his uncles...Arch Manning is likely destined to be a career backup and all of the SEC schools are so much better off since he chose somewhere else. Sure, Texas hasn't even played a single game since he enrolled there...but that doesn't matter. He's destined for mediocrity.

Yes I know, "Texas is gay...the pic is gay...something about dildos" but Arch is shredded.

Manning can't sniff Raiola's jock strap...or Gunner Stockton's for that matter.

So this thread has covered how Arch Manning is already a let down because he hasn’t beat out RS SO Quinn Ewers before fall camp of his FR year…

Dude didn't even look impressive against shite competition.
He's gonna flop pretty hard.

I have no doubt he's a good, maybe even great QB but I don't expect him to make any drastic improvement (aside from experience playing CFB) as he's had world class coaching his entire life
It's kind of a what you see is what you get kind of deal

Not saying he is or will be terrible. But if his last name wasn’t Manning, he probably would have been a 3 star with limited D1 options.

The title and diatribe do not match at all.
Not all 4-5* guys are created equal. Arch seemed a bit overhyped while guys like Nico for the Vols is flying under the radar in an ideal situation.
