Duhhhhhhhhhhh, Metro.....AU's coaches could've won 5 straight titles and they would find something to find fault with the coach and fire him before he could win six!

Are you suggesting that they shouldn't have fired Chizik? Even after it was obvious that Cam Newton was responsible for 2010?

Alabama shutout Chizik’s offense in consecutive seasons (2011 and 2012)

I bet Auburn leadership just couldn’t handle that 2012 Iron Bowl score. They ultimately made the right move and sure enough AUB handed Alabama a painful loss the following year

Who was the last Auburn coach to retire on their own terms?

Jordan. The coaches after him were as follows:

Barfield - Fired
Dye - Resigned
Bowden - Fired
Tuberville - Fired
Chizik - Fired
Malzahn - Fired
Harsin - Fired

I doubt the IB score mattered by then. Auburn was so bad that year. Even got blown out by John L Arkansas.

Body count’s high.

Always wondered what Dooley would've done there had he left and what Dye does at UGA...he was the choice of Leebern and the other money guys over Erk.

Auburn leadership couldn’t handle the off field issues that were happening. Chizik got paranoid and was having bed checks on players and eye scanners to get entry into the football complex. It was weird. And I like the guy.

In that same time frame Florida has had 11 full-time head football coaches

Auburn has had 8

All of our fired coaches never won anything. Yours did. Hope this helps.

What do you consider "won anything"?

National championships? Gene chizik won one.... but he also went winless in Conference play the season he was fired

Natties and SEC titles. Kinda weird that had to be simplified...

The wheels came off awfully quick for Bowden. He was beloved one day and then fired the next.

That's pretty much the case for almost every one of those coaches.

Its not though. They were pissed when Chiz was hired and also tried to swap Tubbs for Petrino on the tarmac years before he got fired.

Crazy stat, Chizik only had one season where he finished ranked in the final poll. Of course, he was ranked number one.

I doubt there is another coach with that stat.

If you mean he was always beloved until the season he was fired, okay. My point is that all of them were heavily believed in by the fanbase at one time during their tenure. That's not common to have a string of coaches like that in succession.
