So sad. Was he trying to aid in rescue?
Prayers up for his family and the families of the other victims

Shocking, and absolutely terrible.
Looks like he was only 35.
Our sincere condolences, Arkansas friends.

They have been flying Double Red flags. Suppose to be a $500 fine on the first offense of getting in the water.

Stay safe out there. We don’t need to lose another legend.

that's what we were thinking
this hurts so bad - he was so excited to bring White Hall up and then move into being a high level coach
met him and his Dad here and there, great people, very respectful kid regardless of the draft media douchebags slamming on him for no reason at all

First Peyton Hillis(survived saving his son and niece), now Mallett. Crazy

We were just in Navarre over the weekend with some friends and small kids. We bailed from the gulf and took them over to the sound after about 3 hours. Not even 10 feet out and that water was pulling them and knocking them off their feet constantly. I had to grab my buddy’s little girl while holding onto mine as she was drifting quick. Hard to relax when I was on high alert constantly ready to run in at any moment. Very sad about Mallett. Waters have been extremely rough this summer.

I knew another razorback almost died saving family but couldn’t remember who. It is crazy, you just don’t realize what those rip currents can do until you are in them.

I was at the 2010 Alabama vs. Arkansas game in Fayetteville. That place was bonkers. I believe it was the first time ever Fayetteville hosted the #1 ranked team.
