They traded the conference with the most absolute rabid college football fan bases for the NY tv market that doesn't even like college football. Make it make sense, please

Penn State, Michigan, Southern Cal, and Ohio State always attract viewers, and Michigan State, Wisconsin, UCLA, and Iowa can at times too. But I don't think the New York market was what they were going for. They plan to cash in on the rabid B1G fanbase but, really, the casual, national fan who tunes in when he hears a big name such as "Michigan" or "Penn State."

But no, they did not make a good business decision.

As long as their game has Michigan, Ohio State or Penn State in it, they’ll be fine.

I will miss not only the theme song, but CBS's production quality, which is outstanding.

Amen. In an era where everything feels the same in terms of media presentation the CBS game truly felt like a big deal when you watched it. Even if it wasn't a top 5 matchup.

I will not miss the 4+ hour run time nor their crappy, biased announcers.

I agree their games tended to run long.

Announcers don't bother me much so I can't really comment on that.

I do miss hearing Uncle Verne at about 2:28 PM on a Saturday and knowing some big baw football was about to go down.

They prioritized the ratings behemoth NFL over college & still held on to 15 games a year in B10 without overspending.

The SEC office seems to have the most regret at the moment.

Verne and Gary were the best college football announcing duo of my lifetime. Verne's voice was iconic, and Gary can be annoying at times, but he's a great color guy if we're being honest.

Not a fan of Gary.

You may be too young to remember Ron Franklin and Mike Gottfried, but they were southern Saturday night football in the 90s. By far the best.

The Big 10 11am Fox games have been some of the highest rated in recent memory. Big10 is a huge ratings market so I don’t think they’ll be having many regrets.
