So, taking us from the trash bin to the supers consecutive years isn’t good? but, isn’t that what we are all chasing every year? Isn’t it also good when UT is good at sports?

but the fact that it went as wrong as it did was surprising.

They were not a team. They were playing like a newly formed travel team.

preseason #2 team in the nation is quite a surprise. Hats off.

We all know that ranking was based off last year. The #2 team in the country don’t have to replace 8 starters.

Especially considering that high school ball park he has to work with.

People are going to crap all over this because Vitello/Tennessee Baseball is a hot button issue over here, but this is 100% true. The job he's done there is remarkable - both in the way he immediately turned it around and in staying power.

He also seems to have learned from last year and toned some of the overly outrageous things down a tick while still being intense and having his guys play with swagger.

Agree fully with your whole post, Georgie.

There were multiple of us who said the end of last season, we expected to see a calmer team this year after the hell they got last year. It probably didn’t hurt that Gilbert is gone too, since he was the head goon of antics and bitchy facial expressions.

We are incredibly lucky to have had a coach like Vitello fall into our lap. You know he’s a winner when the opposing fanbases hate him like they do

I want Vitello at Texas. Guy is a winner. Took his loss last year, learned, came back stronger turning over 8 spots on the roster. He's impressive.

I know right! I bet the Vols have a losing record at home because those visiting teams just crush the ball at LNS.

No, wait, it looks like it’s a huge overall advantage when you can recruit and develop superior pitching in a HR friendly park. And it looks like that hitting translates as well judging by the regionals and Supers this year.

Maybe, now hear me out, maybe if you can pitch and hit at a high level it translates in any ballpark.

Vitello isn't leaving Tennessee. He will grow old in Knoxville.

5 Tenner alter accounts in one thread is more impressive...

It's not so much "learned from last year" as it is umpires having a very short fuse concerning he/his team's bullshite shenanigans.

You either behave or get tossed. I will credit the officiating crews with that (one of the few things they got right this year)

I don't care for him but why were they preseason #2? You make it sound like you think he inherited the team.
