Credit where credit is due. Tip of the cap to Tony Vitello for the marvelous job he has done making Tennessee a relevant player on the baseball stage. Add in the top recruiting classes he has stacked up, and it's really hard not to be optimistic about all things Tennessee baseball for the time being!

The preseason #2 team in the nation is quite a surprise. Hats off.

I mean people can hate but as someone who hasn't been a fan of baseball at all, I've actually watched some. That's impressive. Tony brings the same excitement that Pearl once brought. You want to cheer for his teams because he's out supporting everyone else. AND he's done the impossible and turned us into a consistently good team.

Definitely . I think there will be battles between a few sec programs to get the top transfers and to get the top rated high schoolers to come to school instead of go pro

We've never been a baseball school. You're missing the point.

Halfway through the season I didn’t think there was any way we would make it to Omaha.

Just goes to show, it’s not always the most talented team, but matchups, brackets and a little luck.

You better use nil in baseball if you want to compete. I say that , but it seems like all the baseball players come from money and the ones we got this year donated their nil. It won’t always be that way though. It’s just a new day and age though. To compete it’s about filling holes with transfers and keeping freshman from going pro.

Jay , van horn, and Vitello are all doing that

That and preseason rankings mean absolutely nothing. Especially in baseball.

I questioned whether we would make Hoover after getting swept by Missouri. They turned into a late-season team, Atlanta Braves style.

You’re doing well but the coach has shown in the past y’all haven’t done well. Y’all have been more humble this year for sure.

He’s an absolute Godsend. We wouldn’t be the first program to emerge from obscurity and achieve great things

If you think Tenner isn’t one of the eight most talented teams in the country, you’re clueless. It’s the deepest and most talented pitching staff in the country. Vitello deserves credit for righting the ship when it went wrong; but the fact that it went as wrong as it did was surprising.

Freshmen can’t go pro. Perhaps you meant incoming signees.

We stacked. Lindsey, Dollander, Beam, Burns all could be SEC Friday night starters. And was Halvorsen was already part of Mizzou starting rotation.

I figured it would go without saying that I was clearly referencing and comparing to last years team. Guess not.

That’s all good and well if we can score the runs. We have the bullpen, which no one denies. Our offense is either there or not. We can’t just rely on pitching to save us and every team knows that.

He really has done a great job. It’s fun to make fun of him, but I tip my hat

Impressive, but the Vols will have to fight through the loser’s bracket after Saturday. They aren’t winning against Skenes. 188 strikeouts and 18 walks. Good luck
