Just like y'all saying the SEC was not highly regarded in sports (which is laughable), the academic reputation of the SEC is also far better than people around the country think. Just for example, Huntsville Alabama got man to the moon and back. There is a reason why Huntsville also is the top choice for the new Space Command.

Well . . . .I think it was actually NASA which was utilizing some of the best scientific minds from all over the country and beyond including some former Nazis. Lets not give all that credit to the locals.

And the Marshall center was just one team along with a very large group of folks in Houston.

Uh, maybe because the Redstone Arsenal (now MSFC) was a military base first, going back to artillery times. Think JSC (the titular head of manned spaceflight program) would be picked for a military space post?

For all their rocketry help, it wasn't said, "Huntsville, the Eagle has landed."

Just sayin...
