Let the arguing commence

Not the guy that dumb ole Jimbo schemed out of a game last November.

JDJ doesn’t get nearly enough credit.
He took over for Nakobe Dean last year with zero experience outside of garbage time and became a Butkus finalist

Perkins is the best pass-rushing LB, Trotter maybe the best overall.

Other looks pretty undersized for a LB.

He also saved the season against Ohio State.

Is this best college player?
Best linebacker talent?
Best nfl prospect?
Most valuable for their team?

It's however you want to look at it

This is a pretty good list — crazy that Clemson has two legit guys on it.
Hard to argue with any of those, but SEC-wise (including future), you could probably consider Ford from Texas and Hopper from Florida/Missouri.

Actually, Jimbo's "scheme" was a simple handoff to Achane who run it down our fricking throats. And you guys would've gone 8-4 if he had not waited until late November to try that.
PS
Don't tell anyone, but Perkins was an undersized freshman who was susceptible to that all season.

This is nitpicking, but I would say Perkins is the best pursuit LB. His weakness is teams can run right at him. He can rush the passer and chase down RB's better than any LB in the country.

JDJ may be the best college player.
Played on a great defense and led the team in TFL, QB Hurries, and led non DBs in PBU.
He's called Pop because he makes big plays (pick 6 against Florida).
I just don't think he has the agility to be elite at the next level.
And we have the best/deepest linebacker room in the country. So even though he is a stud, we expect to roll when he isn't on the field too.

Perkins will gain lots of good weight this off season

It's crazy that Perkin's is only a sophomore and is still very much learning the position.

It isn't crazy.
After freshman year, sophomore season typically follows. /s
He is an athletic gem.
He has an opportunity to take a huge leap forward. Some of that is the off-season weight room.
Some of that is the DC preparing the team to allow him to be more multiple.
