Yale was the kind of team we beat by 20+ routinely this season

This team was always a win more team and never a comeback team it felt like.

If didnt win by 20+, we just straight found a way to lose.

Pretty sure they would remember the SEC tourney championship as well

Ya think?

When you think of this team, you think of them winning the SEC tournament, or this 10 player deep Auburn team that everyone said had a chance to go deep in the tourney that gets put out in game 1 by a 13 seed?

Pearl better reign in his players' bullshite. I've said before in posts here on the Auburn board that some.of our players annoy me with their bullshite antics and shite.

Baker was one of those. That bullshite got him ejected and likley cost us that game and early trip home.

That's what I will remember. A vastly under performing team when it mattered.

Yeah, winning the SEC will look okay on the wiki info page, but Id rather get to the elite 8. Hell, I'll take s Sweet 16 every once in a while. We can't even do that with one of our best teams under Pearl.

I'm not going to ignore this poor performance just because this team beat 7 and 8 seeds in the SEC tournament.

Did you see the top SEC teams give much of a shite about losing the SEC tournament? Nope. They are all now in the Sweet 16. We're sitting at home watching them play.

JWill was injured. Lior was out. CBM was a major blow. Pearl knew CBM disrupted everything. The fix was in. I'd rather believe that game was fixed than impartial. Nothing about that game was impartial.

Maybe but I think it’s more just the close game struggles. Didn’t have enough reps. We were beating Yale by 7-12 for the majority of the second half despite their shot making and weird officiating but just could never pull away. When they got it within 5 late I was very concerned

Only Bama and Tennessee are left. And well, only Tennessee is better...

14 TOs and missed FTs down the stretch meant the fix was in?

Don't try to justify things just because it's Auburn.

Just play ball. Play the next play. Expect to make shots. Don’t act like you’ve never made a play when you do.

We missed in clutch moments but did you not see the questionable fouls we racked up? The 4 point play. The Broome over the back. The CBM ejection. None of it looked like a borderline foul but yet last night I watched as Houston played as aggressively as needed to win.

Tenn looks like the best team in the conference this year. Kentucky getti g put out was a surprise. And Kentucky fans are fed up with Calipari it seems.

SEC was just a weak basketball conderence maybe. It's what it appears to be.

As I’ve said numerous times if you want to watch Hoosier ball you are never gonna like Pearl teams. He is all about player empowerment for better or worse. He wants them all to have irrational confidence. 10 years in this stuff shouldn’t surprise anyone.

It has worked out really well for Auburn basketball for the most part.

Every basketball game has questionable fouls. Every game. It's basketball. Other teams get bs calls against them too. The Baker ejection would never have happened if he didn't freaking plant an elbow into the dude's chest.

We have experienced, highly talented players on our team. A 10 man rotation. Best in basketball. And we got beat by Yale.

No excuses. I'm allowing myself to be mad and point the blame where it should be pointed.

What made us so good this season was our defensive aggressiveness and depth. Both were neutered a few minutes into the Yale game somewhat inexplicably. Another thing is that we took pretty good care of the ball much of the season and didn’t in the Yale game. We still had every chance to win the game and couldn’t do it

Yeah, he needs to curb that stuff a bit though. His teams have been like this yeah. Outspoken, super trashtalky. Jawing witb refs all game.

It crazy… we were ahead 12-2 on Friday…. SDSU was ahead 10-0 on Sunday. One team put their foot on yales throat the rest of the first half… one team didn’t. The flagrant 2 and officiating aided it, but still no excuses.

17 or 18 out of 20 teams we probably cover that 13.5 spread… the lesson is don’t let inferior teams hang around.

Yale shot 31 FTs on Friday… and maybe 14 yesterday. Our inability to guard without fouling killed us.

I think it’s one of those things that is hard to curb a bit without complete putting out the flame. I think this team did have 1 too many of those insane personalities though. We had 4 guys who were very capable of getting in a fight at any given moment. 2-3 is probably more like it

Yeah watching SDSU play them is exactly the kind of win I expected to have. They are similar to us defensively

NC is likely gonna score 120 points on Alabama. Makes a big difference in your NCAA first week draw if your AD is on the committee

There is a distinction in how refs can call the game. Two different flows. Stop acting like subjective is always objective.

Probably 80% of the calls were legitimate. But it’s the 20% that are never called or rarely called but were called in that game that killed the flow
