The ACC is nearly as good as the SEC. Both conferences have 8 or so ranked teams.
The ACC is a good league.
Only other conference to have 4 teams make the CWS in a single year
But the SEC West has done that twice

Doesn’t the ACC have the 3 teams with the most CWS appearances without a title? FSU, Clemson, and of course, UNC.

They are all in the top 10 if not the top 5. FSU of course leads the pack.

Lots of fluky losses for those ACC schools in the CWS. Arkansas fans would understand the best.

such as?
If you want to go down that fluky road, the SEC has had plenty of those losses too.

Arkansas dropping the foul ball is the only fluky loss for the SEC that I recall.
For UNC there was the error against OSU in 2006 and then another bs loss in 2007. NCSU actually left the CWS because players got covid which is as fluky as you can get. Florida State has had weird losses over the years.

Technically yes, but only 11 of FSU's 23 appearances were when they were members of the ACC.
The SEC has Arkansas (11), A&M (7), Auburn (6), and Alabama (5). Additionally, Florida won their first title in their 11th appearance, and State won their first title in their 12th appearance. So up until 2018, the SEC had 3 schools with 10+ appearances and no titles.

It would appear they are the top 3 in terms of CWS appearances without at least 1 title.
Looks like you're right. Arkansas next in 4th. Lots of bad luck for those programs over the years.

I remind myself and others of this during the Astros current run. It's not normal to make the ALCS 6 years in a row, make 4 WS, and win 2 titles.
It’s a heck of a good run so far

That would still put them tied for 3rd all time in CWS appearances without a title.

LSU dropping back to back game to USCw in 1998 was fluky as hell. That team was incredible and just fell apart out of nowhere in the semis to an OK USCw team
USCe had a fluky title series loss in their bid to 3-peat. UGA had a fluky loss to Fresno St in 2008 in the title series. LSU set a school record for wins in 2013, were the #2 team in the country (#1 Vandy was knocked out in the supers) and went 2Q in Omaha, losing both games 2-1.
That's just off the top of my head

I can't speak to UNC and FSU, but I can tell you SC and Clemson met in the CWS twice, once in 2002 and once in 2010. Clemson only had to beat us once each time to make it to the finals. Instead we beat them twice on both occasions to go to the finals. I believe that 4-0 record is the only time they've met in the post-season. They had paired regions in 2011 or 2012 but UConn bounced Clemson so they came to Columbia instead of the Tigers.
Anyway, we went on to win the title in 2010 but lost to Texas in 2002 - the last time the CWS finals were a 1-game-take-all format.

Not playing certain opposite division opponents have occasionally helped one team win the division or even the whole SEC. In some years being able to avoid Vandy or Florida was a definite advantage in the West. Not anything unfair, just luck of the draw.
Don't know if that will be worse with the new format or better. Probably better because both Texas and Oklahoma are pretty good and no one will be able to escape good opponents.

UNC was the #1 team in 2013 with 59 wins, knocked LSU out of Omaha and still lost.
I forgot about the UGA loss to Fresno, that was tough to watch.

It will all be random though. No way of knowing who will be good when they fall on your rotation. The SEC is so deep that I really don’t think that will make much of a difference
