4 top 10 teams fall last night

Midweek Games don’t Matter
#2 Stanford Losses to Santa Clara at home 10-5.
#3 Tennessee losses to BC at home 7-6 in extras.
#5 Wake Forest losses to Coastal Carolina at home 13-11
#10 TCU losses to UT Arlington at home 8-2.
Guess Tennessee will still be ranked in the top 5 after this weekend when UT wins another series. UT is also the only team that played a team from a Power 5 conference. UT don’t commit the stupid as mental base running mistakes, they would have won in the 9th. Oh well in to Moorhead St.

Not only do midweek games mean very little (unless it’s something like a rivalry game or two highly ranked teams), I’d say the same thing about non-conference games early in the season. Gotta figure stuff out and see what works.
A&M started 26-0 and 40-1 my senior year at A&M. It was fun, but it didn’t win us any hardware beyond the conference level.

Very informative and well-thought-out post OP.
We only dropped from #2 to #3 in the ELO.
BC was #10 RPI and picked the win the ACC by The Boston Herald.
Last night is exactly what we needed. We had many opportunities to win the game. We are going to be hungry and battle-tested for the SEC slate.
