Nick Saban is not fond of the three proposed opponents

Ross Dellenger article
So their fans have been singing about Tennessee Auburn and LSU in Dixieland delight for a long time. That’s obviously the three teams they care about the most.
Why wouldn’t these be the three permanent opponents? It’s not like all three of these teams will be dominant at the same time. Every time one or two of these teams have a good year the third is down.
I’m beating a dead horse here but for LSU, our three need to be: Bama, Ole Miss and State.

Sounds like Saban is scared

because you don't make decisions liek this based on what drunk college students sing in a song?
they'll get MSU as their 3rd opponent because of history and common sense, then everyone will complain that birmingham offices are going easy on bama. It'll happen like clockwork just wait.
ETA: I actually didn't read the OP behind like the first line ha. I'm curious if saban was just speculating or if he's literally being told that's their 3?

The ole coward probably wants Kentucky, Mizzou and Arkansas.

Scared to play the same three teams he's played since arriving at Alabama back in 2007? But he's right. Our three permanents should be Auburn, Tennessee, and Mississippi State. Those are our three oldest and closest rivals - with Mississippi State quite literally being just down the street. It's obvious that ABC/ESPN is pushing the SEC for Alabama-LSU but that so-called "rivalry" only remains compelling while Saban is in Tuscaloosa. As soon as he retires, it goes back to just being a typical SEC game that no one really looked forward to until 2007.

Oh I fully and 100% agree there, the reason we have most of the dumb shite going on in CFB today is strictly because of money and nothing else.
I just assumed that with bama having AU and UT as stone cold locks, that MSU would be the no brainer 3rd choice. But with the people in charge these days who knows.

LSU won't get Miss St and Ole Miss. Texas A&M will probably be one.

Jesus, Saban sounds like a pussy. Scared to play LSU and Tennessee, now that the Vols are good again.

Rumor in Starkville is Ole Miss, Texas A&M and Kentucky for State. Sign me up.

Oh now they have a problem with playing Tennessee every year

As Alabama’s head coach he is a collective 38-11 against Auburn, LSU, and Tennessee but please continue this narrative.

No offense to Ulandmass, but I'm just thankful we get to keep playing 1 OG SEC team every year.

Maybe Saban can request that Hinds Community College, Southeastern, and Chattahoochee High School get added to the SEC so those can be the permanent opponents

Our most likely 3 will be: A&M, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State
Two top 8 schools and a bottom 8 school

Personally, from a viewer's standpoint I'd like to see AU/UT/LSU every year and I think that should be Bama's permanent 3.
But the great thing about the new format is that every team gets to play each other every other year. Regardless of the permanent 3 we get to see some great matchups continuously throughout the season.
