2 permanent rivals are plenty. I want everyone to get around the league in 2 seasons. We all need to be playing the same schedule.
You need to look at your math.

2 permanent rivals doesn't work with either an 8 or a 9 game schedule. With an 8 game schedule, you would only play some teams once in four years. With a 9 game schedule, you'd end up playing some of the rotating teams 3 times in a four year span instead of 2. Then we'd have to worry about balancing that out, etc.

So, it's either 8 games with one permanent rival, or 9 games with 3.

Saban is tired. Does he not deserve to play state instead?

I’d be sad to see the LSU-Florida game go away in favor of ATM for us.

This game is really one that fans of all schools enjoy, and there’s certainly no love lost between the two fanbases.

He looked fresh enough when he completely dismantled that team in the Big 12 CCG you got bested by. You know, K-State.

Money is the only driving force behind this, so I think we’re going to see lots of conference blue blood matchups as permanents.

Bama/LSU is a lot more money than Bama/State. That’s just the reality of it.

He doesn’t want 3 hard ones when other teams in division don’t. This isn’t hard to figure out

Well yeah.

Who gets Vandy, UK, Mizzou, MS State, etc?

As Alabama’s head coach he is a collective 38-11 against Auburn, LSU, and Tennessee but please continue this narrative.

Well, TN had been terrible for a long time, and currently he is 0-1 against them. Do the rest of the SEC while you are at it...

Currently, Coach Saban is 16-2 vs the vols all time. Can you spell getting owned?

Dude, there is making points the hard way and then there is just YOU.

I don't have a problem playing those 3 teams every year.

The problem is that other teams wouldn't get the same level of competition. I'm sure LSU's 3 wouldn't be Bama, Florida and Georgia. Obviously any game with Bama is good for TV ratings, but logically Auburn, Tennessee and Miss St makes the most sense. Plus, just doing an analysis going back 10 years is ridiculous considering how teams have risen and fallen over a 25 year period.

The 10 year win number will be used to diminish Tennessee when in reality they are the #2 all time team in the conference.

Over any other time period they are at worst #3 or #4.

At UT there are only two eras: before or during Fulmer and post Fulmer, and the post Fulmer is looking up.

I mean if you were ranking teams in the SEC for the next 3-5 years who outside of UGA/Bama/LSU who do you put ahead of them right now?

Y'all help me out but I never remember Saban complaining of playing those three teams when they were down for decades. I'm left with the impression Saban would prefer his 3 annual opponents be Vandy, Missouri and Miss. State.

Why do you continue to bring that TCU knife to an SEC fight?

UT/LSU/AU would be a tough set of permanent opponents, tougher than many other teams will be paired with I’m sure. But that’s the price of being Bama, those games make the money for the conference.

My guess is Auburn's to be Bama, Uga, Florida or MSU, Maybe they will throw Oklahoma on us.

I’m beating a dead horse here but for LSU, our three need to be: Bama, Ole Miss and State.

Of course you want Ole Miss and State. Two schools who havent won an SEC title in like 60 years. They are trying to screw Auburn too with the opponents they would get which is some combination of Bama/Uga & Florida or LSU. The Big Six (guess you could throw Tex and OU in that mix) need to all have two Big Six opponents and one non Big Six

He didnt complain because the schedule was pretty much the same as everyone elses. His point is they are going to give LSU like Ole Miss and Arkansas on a yearly basis.

He would prefer that his annual opponents be equitable to the other Big Six SEC teams. No easier and no harder

Agree. I think this makes the most sense when comparing it to the other Big Six schools.
