Don't let the door hit you on the way out. I feel like he used Alabama. I have zero respect for that. But that's just me...

“Growing up in West Alabama the opportunity to coach at The University of Alabama is a dream come true,” Armstrong said. “I have admired what Coach Saban has built in Tuscaloosa and the long history of tradition and success this program has enjoyed. I am excited to get to work as we continue the legacy of success that is synonymous with Alabama football.”

Its not a charity.
He left for a promotion and big raise to another SEC power school.
In the immortal words of the Macho Man, Randy Savage "You may not like it, but accept it."

It’s not a big deal. I’m just glad Bama didn’t counter.

With him or without him, we'll still win. Good promotion and gig for him. He should take it.

I think this is Charlie Strong's job. I could be wrong but the rumor weeks ago is that Strong was coming with Steele.

Ha!
Some fans just cannot accept the business aspect of sports. You think all the coaches and players at Alabama are there out of loyalty. shite no. They are all using the money and resources of Alabama to better themselves. Armstrong is a born and raised Alabamian who was offered a better job. That’s it.
LB coach at Bama vs. DC at Florida? As long as he’s up for it at a young age, it’s a no brainer.

Right, but he probably could have made the move to Fla straight from Southern Miss or where he came from. Why go to Alabama for a week.
That doesn’t make sense.

C'mon man. It's a helluva opportunity, and he'd be dumb not to take it.

It doesn’t sound like the Florida opportunity was available at the time.

He’s gotta take it but I don’t see Napier having much success.

Armstrong took the job at Alabama in January.
The Florida DC job opened up yesterday.
How was he supposed to go straight there from his Southern Miss job?

Sure is a lot of STUPID on this board. All of you that would not accept a major promotion ( probably at least $500,000 raise) go fart in a tornado and see how that works.

If we wanted to, we could have offered him a Co-DC spot, and upgraded his pay to keep him. He would be crazy to turn that down. We would be more impressive for his resume than Florida if we offered him a Co-DC position. We probably could have matched whatever Florida offered. Maybe we're still hoping and praying for Pruitt to be cleared soon. It sucks to lose Armstrong, he seemed to have potential. Oh,well.

Assuming he is successful, going to Florida as DC and bettering their defense will be more impressive than being Co-DC with Steele at Bama.
It looks better when your area of responsibility is the opposite of the HC.

Just read where Stephen M. Smith suggests that Saban hire Nico Johnson or Shaun Dion Hamilton as Inside LBer coach. Oof.

Can't hate that move. It's a 7 figure gig or close.
