How far we’ve fallen that I’m actually surprised to see us ranked.

Ready for the Arkansas rematch, should be an annual series.

What are your thoughts on Sully for the year? It's gotta be CWS or he gets canned, right? Did winning the natty a few years ago earn him the right to suck for a little bit?

I think Florida will be a National Seed and all the hot seat talk will go away

no way.
gata has been in Omaha 7 times in the past 12 seasons (not counting 2020) and won it all once.
ain't no way he gets canned if they don't make omaha again.

South Carolina might get rained out on Friday. Showing an 85% chance of rain right now.

I'd like to agree, but LSU had a quick trigger with Mainieri. He finishes as the runner-up to Florida in 2017, then goes to a Regional, two Supers, and gets pressured to retire. I realize those two have vastly different baseball programs, but Florida has what it takes to be a consistent competitor if they take it seriously.

Sully is our greatest baseball coach ever, and he has a really long leash, especially considering how shitty our football and basketball programs are right now, baseball doesn't look too bad. Florida baseball fans are finicky, but not LSU finicky. Our main issue has been pitching, and Sully has a history of having really strong pitching, so hopefully we can get back to the top of the conference on the mound.

He got fired three years after finishing runner-up. LSU has high standards, but that's a pretty short leash.

WTF are you talking about? He was our coach for 14 years until he retired.

Yeah, UF would be insane to let him go. Even if he did have a bad year. If he got canned I’d want SC to pick him up immediately.

Yeah, he retired. With everyone on the Internet screaming about how much they wanted him gone

Mainieri was killing LSU baseball slowly those last few years he was a terrible coach. Maybe it was the health issues but even the player have said he wasn't the same

You're the only LSU fan to not try to revise history so far. Yeah, it was probably time for him to go, LSU's baseball program is too valuable to let it slide into obscurity. But the fact remains that after his last CWS appearance, he got three years before everyone agreed it was time. That's a pretty quick trigger. People on here have grumbled about Sully, which is the only reason I asked. And even though I know Florida and LSU are different, I wonder if Florida is gonna adopt the same standards to remain competitors. Florida has loads of potential across all major sports.

That happens to every LSU coach though.

Vitello made Maneiri cry and then quit.
