A spin off from the Stetson thread.

After listening to our guys I’m starting to think they really believed that nobody picked them to win more than 6 or 7 games….everyone thought they sucked and everyone thought they didn’t deserve to be there. Stet thinks everyone hates him.

Is CKS controlling the narrative and news flow to craft this message to get a desired result?

Were ESPN talking heads and click bait commentators on a constant feed in the meal hall talking about how UGA can’t win after losing all of those starters?

We’re Dawgnation reporters inserted into media days to ask Stet what he thought about all of the coaches and fans thinking he sucks?

Was Stet on a feed to get ITDawg and Griffindawg’s in game posts?

There could be something here.

I’d love to see the arse kicking that would happen if that cünt tried to call Stetson Scoutie to his face.

If I gave it all and someone out of nowhere and handed me a pine cone. And explained that whether the pine cone faced up or down meant something. Wait what? Wooo

Hell…you know….you take a kid like that who’s willing to get in there and mix it up with the big boys…and WIN? They’re tough as shite.

Having some familiarity with Murray Cty I guarantee you Ladd could fight his way out of a fricking army of internet posters.

Kirby absolutely Jedi mind-fricked these kids. He successfully controlled the narrative to the point to where several of the players, on live TV, claimed that there were media members that predicted UGA to go 5-7. Lol.

Kirby is GOATed.

I imagine that the overwhelming, historic success in having 15 players taken in the NFL draft absolutely drew parallels in the locker room per the coaches to LSU's drop off after 2019 with 14 players leaving the program.

I think Beck will have a hell of a season. Dude can throw the ball and he can run a little bit, not like stetson though.

Apparently Stockton can handle pressure as he runs the scout team (minus the black shirt) against our 1's. Can Beck handle pressure?

I only saw Gunner in one game. Maybe an all star game if I remember right. My only impression was that it seemed like he enjoyed trying to run through linebackers.

We have an easy schedule. I want to see all three QBs getting live play once next season starts. That's the only way to get a handle on which is more likely to be the best. Practice performance often lies.

Stockton is way more mobile. I think Kirby or Monken said they prefer a mobile QB. Hope he gets the job.

LINK

Here is his HS highlights. Love some of his ability to keep plays alive.

Beck has an elite arm, good size and mobility. I think he lacks vision, but that can improve with snaps and experience, though not all can elevate that aspect of the skillset to the speed and complexity of the college game.

Gunner is a coaches kid and grew up groomed to play QB. He is a better runner and has a good arm. In think it will come down to who can run and execute the offense most effectively. Would not be surprised if we see 2 QBs getting minutes this season until 1 rises above the other.

He also said that Stet's mobility was the determining factor in the philosophy shift.

What he said was he would put more weight on mobility than he did prior to Stetson, not that he preferred it.

All other things being equal, mobility would be the deciding factor.

That kid from Bama is extremely mobile.

Don't confuse Kirby vs Monken.

Monken has autonomy of the offense.
What Kirby "prefers" has changed because of the marriage of Stet and Monken.

Monken has always preferred mobility in the pocket. In 2020 and early 2021, the OL was still a work in progress. Mobility and ability to handle pressure was more of a necessity than a luxury like in 2022.

I don't confuse the two. I was just clarifying what Kirby actually said.

They DO believe it. It's not real hard to brain-wash 17-18 year old kids. I was so brainwashed after only 3 months on Parris Island I would believe anything my DI's told me. Kirby's ability to create an us vs. them mentality borders on scary dangerous. I could sooooo see it in Stetson's demeanor last Saturday it was like holding a mirror up to an 18 year old me. Additionally with Stet, no one had to manufacture any propaganda for him to hate everything outside. He was fed it by anyone and everyone 24/7.

I agree. Beck does not have Stet's elusiveness but he can and will run and he's not slow. Conversely, he seems to have a stronger arm than Stet. I don't look for anyone to unseat him. He's got 3 years in Monken's system and knows it backward and forward. He's looked pretty good in back-up and the spring game. IMHO it would be asking/ expecting a lot to think the others can unseat him. I look for him to do well this year and bring home another Championship.
