What would Georgia have to do to be considered the next Dynasty, on par with other Dynasties from past generations?

I'd say you need at least 3 national titles in a 5-6 year span to call yourself a dynasty, and probably a college football playoff appearance in at least 5 of those 6 seasons. The media and fans insist on wanting to annoint the flavor of the moment the next "dynasty" when a true dynasty is a very rare thing and something only a handful of teams in the history of college football truly have been. In the modern era of college football, only Alabama really fits the bill and Nebraska from 94-97 (maybe through 99) before them.

Minimum to be considered: three national championships within 10 years or minimum five in 15 years.
Other factors: consistent success such as multiple years in a row of 10 win seasons, annually in the conversation for national championships, playing in championship games, 100 years of championship contention and trophies, multiple decades of winning at least one championship, etc.
In other words, the standard is Alabama.

Just making the CFP Championship game 3 of last 6 seasons is a pretty impressive foundation. We'll see what happens.

Going backwards from there, a case could be made for USC in the early 2000s, Florida State and Nebraska in the 90s, Miami in the 80s, Alabama and USC in the 70s, and Alabama in the 60s.
There are arguably caveats with each, like Florida State's lack of multiple championships, or Nebraska's powerful yet short run.
Miami's may be the second-most prolific, IMO (but we're also closing in on that being 40 years ago).

Kirby is building something very formidable. He’s a few championships away and 10 years of being in the hunt (he’s already 7 years under his belt) of being a dynasty. Can he sustain it? If I had to bet I’d say yes. He’s no flash-in-the pan. Looks built for the long haul, not to mention he’ll have a good 10 years after Saban is gone.

Yes it's impressive. But impressive feats and reaching dynasty status are not mutually exclusive. Clemson was in the national title game 4 out of 5 years, winning 2, and the CFP 6 straight years. I wouldn't call them a dynasty either.

No. Three in a 5-6 year span would be pretty legit, though. Starting off 2 for 2, so that bodes well. We'll have 3-4 years for another which seems like good odds given the current state of things.

Based on that, I’d say 2008-22 Bama, 2017-22 Georgia, 2015-19 Clemson, even 2014-20 Ohio State match that description.
But it’s all subjective.
