Based on what they did last season. It just means the pollsters haven’t watched them play this year. The only thing it means for UGA is that they are better than they were last season and the SEC isn’t as good as last season (with the exception of Arkansas, Bama and Tennessee).

Jabari Smith was integral to their team last year without him they would have been pretty average. They dont have star go to player this year.

Unfortunately we are riding Bruce’s reputation and that’ll soon go away once we get some conference games that everyone sees. This is a bad bad basketball team. Can’t shoot…like at all…, no discipline, piss poor guard play. We’ve missed on all 3 recruits in this class and it shows. If we make the tourney it’ll be a miracle.

Traore is a project. He seems lost on both ends of the floor. He adds nothing right now. Broome and Cardwell have adequately filled Kessler’s role, but we don’t have anyone that can score one on one consistently and we have a team full of low basketball IQ guys that don’t understand how to work with ball movement and off the ball player movement on offense to get good looks consistently. This problem was covered up a bit last year by Smith’s ability to knock down contested jumper’s and threes.

Green and Johnson are undersized guards that take a ton of bad shots that not only kill the offense, but usually put the defense in a bad spot. They have nights where they hit the bad shots and AU looks good, but on nights when they aren’t hitting those shots, it’s very ugly.

Roberts and Oquendo are the best backcourt in the SEC

I'd argue that Kessler was as much, if not more, integral to our success. He was almost a guaranteed double/double, with a few triple doubles thrown in there. His defensive presence under the basket was huge for us last year. He basically stopped 10 points a game from being scored on blocks alone.

I think it actually extended beyond the stat sheet, if that makes sense.

Even if he didn't get a block, he affected the shot selection so much, it often changed the flow of the game, IMO.

Kessler disrupted games with his presence on the court, folks had to be aware of where he was the entire time and he prevented opponents from getting in a scoring groove. Until late in the season when better teams learned how to account for him and defend him, AU controlled games.
