What would that mean for the conference foe that beat them?

Apparently #90 in Ken Pom and a good laugh.

It means if thuga ever wins anything in BB you can pop those rubber lips..

I agree that Auburn doesn't appear to be very good right now — in December/January. IMO they have the same issues with guard play (with the same guys).
But basketball is a strange game sometimes. Any team can drop one on a given night, especially on the road.
I wouldn't count them out quite yet unless this trend continues, but it's obvious that at the moment, they're just not really playing good basketball.

Jabari Smith was integral to their team last year without him they would have been pretty average. They dont have star go to player this year.

I guess Traore and Broome were supposed to be those guys to step into the Smith and Kessler roles?

Unfortunately we are riding Bruce’s reputation and that’ll soon go away once we get some conference games that everyone sees. This is a bad bad basketball team. Can’t shoot…like at all…, no discipline, piss poor guard play. We’ve missed on all 3 recruits in this class and it shows. If we make the tourney it’ll be a miracle.

Broome has been quite good. He had 22 and 12 last night but Traore, Westry(hurt), and Donaldson have been major disappointments at this point. Traore looks overwhelmed and lost out there. Bad look for a 5*.

quote:Traore is a project. He seems lost on both ends of the floor. He adds nothing right now. Broome and Cardwell have adequately filled Kessler’s role, but we don’t have anyone that can score one on one consistently and we have a team full of low basketball IQ guys that don’t understand how to work with ball movement and off the ball player movement on offense to get good looks consistently. This problem was covered up a bit last year by Smith’s ability to knock down contested jumper’s and threes.

Green and Johnson are undersized guards that take a ton of bad shots that not only kill the offense, but usually put the defense in a bad spot. They have nights where they hit the bad shots and AU looks good, but on nights when they aren’t hitting those shots, it’s very ugly.

Roberts and Oquendo are the best backcourt in the SEC

I'm not going to dignify that with a response.

I'd argue that Kessler was as much, if not more, integral to our success. He was almost a guaranteed double/double, with a few triple doubles thrown in there. His defensive presence under the basket was huge for us last year. He basically stopped 10 points a game from being scored on blocks alone.

I think it actually extended beyond the stat sheet, if that makes sense.
Even if he didn't get a block, he affected the shot selection so much, it often changed the flow of the game, IMO.

We have 9-10 players that should be the 4th-6th best players in a good team. We don’t really have any 1-3 guys.
Offensively, we don’t play a style of basketball where the sum of the parts can be greater than the whole.

Who’s better?

quote:Kessler disrupted games with his presence on the court, folks had to be aware of where he was the entire time and he prevented opponents from getting in a scoring groove. Until late in the season when better teams learned how to account for him and defend him, AU controlled games.

I can tell you don't know anything about college basketball.
Was this your first time watching a game? Did you even watch?
Auburn isn't very good this year though. Georgia didn't beat a good team.
