Alabama CB Eli Ricks on whether he will return in 2023: "I’m gonna speak to my coach first. I’m about to speak to him right now actually. So we’ll know pretty soon. We’ll know by the next coming days -- today or tomorrow, probably.”
quote:
“It’s really a decision of where I feel like I’m at,” Ricks said. “If I’m ready for the NFL, or if I’m not. It’s really as simple as that.”

Could definitely benefit from another year.

Sounds like a guy that is gone, but he would benefit greatly from another full year of solid play. Although didn’t his little brother just reclassify and commit? Maybe he’ll stay another year to play with him.

Some news sites ran with it without fact checking it.

Dude has battled injuries the last 2 seasons. He needs to come back.

He should come back but probably won't

It was funny how KSU kept throwing on Mckinstry and barely tried Ricks.

Yeah Kool-aid looked great this game. Coaches like Arnold too and I think he can be a good player next year. Ricks will have to battle for PT if he comes back.

He's the only one with a decision to make. Everyone else is a clear go (Young, Gibbs, Anderson, Branch) or stay (McClellan, Brasswell, Smith, Moore). It's a deep draft at corner particularly at the top. He's a day 2 lock. In my opinion he needs one more offseason in the weight and film rooms. The first play on his scouting tape is going to be him wetting the bed on that Deuce Vaughn run. Run it back. Play into the middle of the 1st round. Guarantee himself an additional 10 million dollars.

Ricks is the best cover corner. He didn't get tested because his coverage is good.

He's not the best.
Kool-Aid is clearly and Ricks has a lot to work on because he got bullied in the run game by every receiver K-State has.

Ricks will still get drafted high off the film he has already.
If Terrion Arnold works on his footwork this off-season...he will be the BEST cover corner we have regardless if Ricks is here.
Arnold showed stuff that the other corners don't have honestly.
People will think I'm crazy but if he develops the way I think he can...Arnold will go higher than both Kool-Aid & Ricks.
