Why anyone would fire Tom Herman after a 7-3 season for this clown is beyond me. I said it then and I still believe it today. Herman gave them their best season since 2009 but fired him after a .700 season for 5-7/7-5 sark.

I agree with you. Sark is a great OC but he's simply not even a good head coach. I don't expect him to make it through all of next season before being fired.

Firing coaches after 3 years is not a winning formula. But yeah I don't have faith Sark is going to get us there.

Got to give him 5 years. The college football environment has changed so much.

Herman got a raw deal. Was he really that difficult to get along with?

I am also not a fan of the other extreme like A&M where you lock down a coach after 1 good season and are stuck with him. However, it seems like there isn’t a happy medium in CFB contracts today. You either do the revolving door of nobodies or roll the dice on a big name and hope it pans out.
I just though Herman was a way better coach.

I just don't think he handles in-game situations very well. We were running a track meet on Oklahoma State, but he wanted to throw the ball 17 more times than we ran it. Too many of these wonder boy offensive coordinators/head coaches want to show everyone how brilliant they are instead of just exploiting the mismatches staring them in the face.
I don't agree on Herman, though. His teams had too many failures in big/close games and against inferior teams. I think he just wore out his welcome, too.

Yeah but Herman at least has some track record of success. He won 13 games at UH and 10 games at Texas.
Sarks BEST season was 9-4 at USC before having his…problems and getting fired a year later. He’s never lost less than 4 games in a season.
The whole Herman/sark fiasco just seems like Texas saying “7-3 isn’t good enough and we want to send that message, even if we go .500 for the next 3 years”.

You're not going to get any argument from me on Sarkisian. I'm tired of the revolving door at head coach, but I wrote in the game thread we'd be better off if the special assistant to the head coach were the head coach.

You guys just continue to hire scrubs with issues. Herman was already known to be problematic prior to y’all hiring him. Maybe it’s rare to find a coach without much dirt these days.
Really was hoping Sark would’ve found a good environment but it’s not looking positive.

It’s the Longhorn Network. It’s a freaking curse.

For sure. Texas took the flash in the pan in Strong and Herman, and a Saban acolyte OC with a shite track record at HC. If we were looking this year, we'd throw the bag at Dykes, who would come here and suck and get fired in 3 years.

Texas is undefeated, they just 'ran out of time' in 5 games.

It's UT.
They think they're Alabama and expect to be undefeated every year, irrespective of reality. A better question is why anyone would want to coach there.

Look at these records. One guy was fired for the other guy.

The Texas downfall started in the Rose Bowl when they stepped on the field with Alabama. They have not been the same since.
