Sma concerned about hurting the UCF program but worked out what was the best way to announce with Gus... Sam is looking soft and indecisive.

Because burning bridges isn’t exactly a good way to do business.

Pitt is 61 and a bad season from getting fired. Who gives a shite about pudding off a guy who openly hates your program...
Sam seems like he's just counting down the days til retirement now.

Didn't seem to hurt some coaches.

If he was really mailing it in and not trying to build something long term, he wouldn’t care if bridges were burned or not.

Burning what bridges? In what world is it normal for a current and former employer to coordinate on a transition from company to company?

If I knew the logistics and bridges that had to be created and crossed to bring Travis Williams to Arkansas I wouldn’t be posting here.

Oh I can actually take this one for once as it falls in my life space. I’ve personally managed the transition of many folks from individual contributor up to C level in coordination with their former employer. Many times with the person moving not even knowing that those talks took place. It definitely happens in the corporate space at least more than you’d think or know.

I like the fact that Turner contacted Sam about the job. He has potential to improve that position a good deal.

Yes, we really should accommodate a coach who hates our program, completely pantsed us in our 2017 coaching search, and then recommended Chad Morris for the job.
frick Gus Malzahn.

Gotta keep our options open when Pitt wins 2-4 games next year and we get turned down by Casey Dick, Kelley and Anthony Lucas.

Because Malzahn was the only person affected.

Stephen Johnson flipped to Auburn because we didn’t have a DC.

Couple of good UCF players in the portal. One is a 4* LB. Wonder if Coach can get them to come with him?

If we are really changing to a 4 down front we better call every lady of the night in Fayetteville and send them all over the country to make deposits for us. Going to need a lot of DT's.

If a 3 star DT lacked the patience to see who we hired as DC, he's not worth worrying about. He likely wasn’t fully committed to begin with and people are just looking for something to take their frustration out on.
It doesn’t take much critical thinking to realize there’s more moving parts that Pittman had to account for than just, as you say, accommodating Malzahn.
