No fan of either program, but how on earth does Bennett get invited over Hooker?

I’m aware the Heisman award is a joke but holy hell
It’s really because Georgia is the best team, isn’t it?

That and the fact Bennett played his best against UGAs toughest opponents.
He demolished the ranked teams UGA faced. He didn’t stat pad against AA teams.

Everyone acting like Hooker has otherworldly, Bryce Young 2021 level numbers.
He doesn't.
Hooker and Stetson's numbers are actually not too far apart, outside of interceptions. Hooker had 2 (?) all season? That is elite.
But, when you consider the amount of second half passes by Stetson, as compared to Hooker, we see that maybe their numbers are only close to each other because of the second half offenses that Monken called.
But, at the end of the day, Stetson is undefeated, and Hooker has two arse whippings strapped to his back, his fault or not.
So, yes, it's really because Georgia is the best team.

Because he’s spent more years in college than Bluto did in Animal House..

People who just look at the stats shouldn't have a Heisman vote. I don't have a dog in this fight but no one who saw both play can say with a straight face that Stetson Bennett was as important to his team as Hendon Hooker was to his.
Pure stats are for the birds. Bryce Young was worse in every statistical measurement this year compared to last year, but played a much better season in 2022 than he did in 2021.

Personally, I'd go you one further and say eliminate everyone from voting for the Heisman and just quit with the award. It doesn't mean what everyone wants it to mean, and hasn't since I was a wee lad.
Perhaps, it never did mean what it was represented to mean.
Just something else for us fans to get arse hurt over and argue about.

You, my friend, are 100% correct. It should be argued that Bryce was MUCH more important to his team, this season, than most QBs out there. If not all.
This UA team is hot garbage without Bryce's skill set and will to compete.

You clearly didn’t watch the Bama games. While Bryce made some eye popping plays, he missed wide open receivers on more plays than I can count this year. Bounced the ball to them in the LSU game and had at least 5-8 misreads in virtually every game where a guy was wide open. Maybe because he was never 100% healthy, but he was not “himself” this year.

Duggan deserves the award.

Here’s going to be an unpopular opinion.
He’s a better quarterback. He’s not being asked to throw it 50 times a game, he takes good care of the ball. Basically he’s Mac Jones. Capable of winning a game if he needs to, making sure he isn’t losing it if he doesn’t.

The Heisman award does not go the most important to his team, it goes to the most outstanding player in college football.
Recently the award has drifted to players on the best teams
Definition:
the Heisman Trophy or The Heisman) is awarded annually to the most outstanding player in college football. Winners epitomize great ability combined with diligence, perseverance, and hard work.
The Heisman is the oldest of several overall awards in college football, including the Maxwell Award, Walter Camp Award, and the AP Player of the Year. The Heisman and the AP Player of the Year honor the outstanding player, while the Maxwell and the Walter Camp award recognizes the best player, and the Archie Griffin Award recognizes the most valuable player

So basically what we are saying is every year the award should go to the QB who plays in a gimmick offense on a team with no defense that has to score 50+ a game to win. Oh and let’s not forget still chunking it up when they are up big in the 4th quarter just to pad stats. This sounds great for Heupel and Lincoln Riley QB’s but to bad they will never win a championship

If Tennessee and Georgia switched QBs, who would have the better offense?
Posted on 12/10/22 at 8:47 am to CNB
I think if Heisman voting were ranked choice voting, Stetson would win it. He's probably #2 on the majority of ballots with #1 being all over the place.

WE DONT HAVE TO THROW THE BALL CUZ WERE WINNIN TOO MUCH. LADD MCKONKEY SHOULDA WON THE BLITTENEKOFF CUZ WE DONT GET TO PLAY OFFENSE LIKE THAT MUCH

Hard to say, Hooker doesn't do a fraction of the work Bennett does pre-snap or the number of reads and options built into the plays that Monken draws up. Hypel's offense is 11 plays, the trick is to get the snap off while the defense is still getting off the ground from the previous play. Is Hooker capable of playing at Stet's level in Monken's style of offense? Not saying Hooker is dumb, don't know. But there's a lot of brain processing and decision making within a 2 to 4 second window that Stetson pulls off in Monken's offense, on every play.
Being a great QB is a lot more than how you project to the NFL or how good your arm is.

I watched enough to say that there is nothing factually inaccurate about what I said. And if you believe that I am referring only to Bryce's throwing rather than his overall QB acumen, then you are wrong.
Everyone talks about Duggan's "grit". Bryce has grit as well, as does Stetson, I'd argue.
Bryce made chicken salad out of a lot of chicken shite, and I'd wager that many of your Bama brethren would agree.
If I'm putting together an All SEC Team, Bryce is QB1 on that squad.
