Only thing that will make High Freeze a bad hire is if he loses football games.

No one is going to care about some quaint incident ten years ago with hookers or some salty twitter banter if he can right the ship at Aubarn and compete for championships. Conversely, if he fails to compete for championships and Aubarn continues to be a mediocre non-entity in the CFP hunt, then ooooh boy will this look like one of the top five or ten worst coaching hires of all time. If Freeze loses as Auburn you have to look at this as a Jimbo Fisher level bad hire.

If he gets caught screwing whores - it will be considered a bad hire.

Except AU did not guarantee a loaded Brinks truck to Freeze like TAM did with Jimbo.

It'd be interesting to see who AU signs in a few weeks. Who Freeze can flip.

Auburn fans won’t care about his past if he wins, but will if he doesn’t. (“Not only should we fire him because he loses 5 games a year but we also never should have hired him because he’s a piece of shite” will be a common refrain.)

Fans of rival schools will bring up his history for as long as he is at Auburn.
