Orgeron was 9-3 his first year too. Not sure any of that is relevant.

I think the point is don’t judge a coaches success based on his first season.

Another title winner, I'm seeing a pattern here.

The difference between Kirby and the rest is zero previous head coaching experience.

Literally only one person you listed was the first year as a coach.

Kirby so far ahead of the curve it's not funny

Kiffin going 5-5 his first year with an all SEC schedule during Covid is way more impressive than people give him credit for

He beat South Carolina, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and State. That is way worse than I thought and so I fixed it to 4-5

He won a national title with one of the best seasons the sport has ever seen.

He was also left with a very good roster. BK was left with trash and a toxic culture.

It's been relevant each and every single time because there's no way to post about how totally and completely fine everything is the morning after LSU got its arse beat by a dumpster fire of team that your fanbase relentlessly shite-talks 365 days a year and lost any hope of making the playoffs without exposing yourself as a hard-core copium addict.
