Part of the playoff expansion is guaranteed spots for conference winners. I’d assume we would let the 2 highest ranked teams play like the Big 12 does. They don’t have divisions, but brought back the conference championship bc they were at a disadvantage not having that extra game the Pac, ACC, Big, and SEC had

I’m interpreting his question as, Will the SECCG game go away. When the Big 12 initially went no division, they had no conference championship game.

I have a feeling this year will be about conference champions because bama may be out of the picture.

It wouldn't surprise me if four different conferences were represented this year. Not because those teams are better, but to make it more interesting to the television viewers.

Sometimes things aren't fair.

No..
but I do think it should be used as a tie breaker among P5 teams

an 11-1 non champ and have played 9 P5 games
Vs
A 12-1 con champ.. and have played 11 P5 games

It’s a no brainer.. it really is that simple

Don't worry, UGA will still get in after winning the SECCG...

First, you have to decide what the word, "champion" means. Does it refer to the best team, or does it just refer to a tournament winner?

No, it will only get worse when we expand the playoff

at the time, NCAA rules required you have 12+ members to be able to have a Conference Championship Game.
that rule changed about 5 or 6 years ago.

Especially not after we expand.

Tenner hopes the CFPC gives zero fricks about a team being conference champion and places all their trust in a 2nd place team in a weak division.

Some might. I don’t. But I’m of the opinion that if you are going to have a playoff it should have set criteria and standards, 1st should be P5 conference championship(preferably undefeated). Otherwise the regular season doesn’t matter.

No they need to cut to the chase. Everyone realizes there are about 60 teams between the p5 independent and G5 that are playing minor league nfl. They need to go ahead and trim the fat get the collective bargaining going and divide into conferences divisions or whatever and get a playoff going that has real parameters and doesn’t leave it up to people with bias. Too much this team is top 4 bc their schedule is tough but this team is top four bc eye test

No but it should be. The powers that be prefer some wiggle room to be able to get teams in.

What's so difficult with accepting the 4 best teams? It's nice to win your conference but if you're not one of the 4 best teams, you don't belong in the playoffs. Simple enough.
