Haters are going to hate.
Get a life and move on. Ole Miss did....perhaps you should follow their lead.

The Grove is one of the most overrated things in the SEC. Almost as overrated as Jimbo Fisher was.

There’s like 8 schools in the SEC that would have an equal or better environment to the grove if they crammed all their tailgating into a small section of their campus.

Ole Miss lacks easy access and is an isolated rural college town overall. It's simply hard to recruit consistently well.

It's culture is a party school. The frat and sorority houses are so close to the stadium its hard to get kids to not dip out to get ready for the after party. The Grove is a public gathering and open booze and food fest. Plenty of folks are as content to continue the party on the lawn and watch from their tents as they are to actually go into Vaught. On top of that, the transition to the Square during a night game causes an additional early exodus problem unless in a close game vs a good opponent.

I disagree with the earlier comment about the gray hairs getting angry about standing and cheering. That has not been my experience there. In fact, it's been quite the opposite. Lots of rich (in debt) old folks drinking it up and reliving their glory days. BDS has the overly, dignified sit down and watch crowd that kills homefield advantage.

No other school is set up the same as the grove and Ole Miss which is the whole point dipshit. If every school could set it up the same way, they would. Reason the grove is voted top tailgate in the country every year.

If we wanted to copy the Baton Rouge atmosphere we’d just start robbing and shooting people.

The Grove isn't bad but smashing all of your tailgating into an area that small creates some issues.

The “WAOM” mindset of the fanbase is more at fault IMO. Every ole miss fan I know expects to lose in miraculous fashion and that carries over to the teams. Still stunned they won a CWS.

Letting booster run your athletic department is a culture problem.

Students have always been an issue staying and our older fans don’t like people standing and cheering.
Up until Kirby became Georgia's coach this was certainly the case in Athens. For about 25 years the wine and cheese crowd ruled the roost at Sanford Stadium. The fans were tepid, and the team usually gave a tepid performance as well. It took a man like Kirby, who played for the dawgs during that time, to set things straight.

Ole Miss developed a culture around "winning the tailgate." For decades, the product on the field couldn't compete, so the battlefield for Ole Miss became the tailgate.

I really don't see this as a problem for creating a winning program.

Ole Miss' biggest "problems" are that they have a relatively small fanbase for an SEC school, and less money than most. They are also the least populated SEC state, and compete in-state with another SEC program for limited resources and talent.

They're about as big a school as they've ever been, but there's still just around 19,000 students enrolled in Oxford. People think of Arkansas and Ole Miss as being similar in size, but there are 12,000 more students in Fayetteville than there are in Oxford. We also have at least double their endowment.

Their problem has always been resources; that, and competing in-state for talent with another SEC school.

Georgia went 85-16 at Sanford Stadium from 2000 - 2015. That doesn't qualify as "tepid."

Yeah schools like LSU, Wisconsin, and A&M are just lining up to move their significantly larger and more diverse tailgating environment into a tiny piece of land with banned open flames and unnecessary open container rules. Hey we put our beer in red cups and hang chandeliers! Come grab some crock pot Walmart food and go watch our team fall short again!

To be fair, auburn has developed a culture about family then has ran five different coups in the past 20 years to get coaches fired

Dude, Ole Miss has had the exact same number of coaches Auburn has had (6) over the last 20 years and that's counting Caddy as one of them.

ETA: Who downvotes math?

do they really still do that kind of stuff?

In Fayetteville, you can request a to-go cup with your drink on Dickson Street and walk around in the open downtown. You need the designated wrist-band showing you had your ID checked, but they are free at any bar.

hasn't led to chaos.

Now check 1990-1999. Also, at least 2 or 3 home games and a couple of away games yearly also that Richt and staff had them totally unprepared for. That's just the facts.

Speaking for Texas only I can confirm that that lots of older fans attend and don’t like to stand up or be stood in front of. Can’t say I blame them.

As for the Grove, it is an excellent tradition and one in which OM fans can justifiably take great pride. I wouldn’t consider OM to have a culture problem.

But the issue is the football game on Saturday is a distraction from the main event, The Grove. This was built over decades and will take a while to correct.

So that is not a cultural problem, that is just having a culture. No need to change it. I have heard hundreds of national pundits say they look forward to visiting Oxford but I can’t recall ever hearing a national pundit get excited about visiting Auburn except for the IB.

I can. Jordan-Hare is one of the best environments in the SEC. I've been to games there when Auburn is bad and it's still electric.
