What Is It About the State of Georgia?

It’s like the “swing state” of college football.
We know Auburn is only good when the state of Georgia is recruited well.
But it is VERY interesting that all the National Champions of the last 2 decades (except for LSU & Ohio State) recruited the state of Georgia very well.

It's somewhat surprising given the demographics there, but they have an outside, athletic culture there that most of the people adhere too.

This is the mother of all alpine bat signals.

Really interesting stuff. Anecdotally, I'd think Georgia ranks so high because so many people have moved to Atlanta (traffic's bad enough already...y'all stop coming!). People who relocate (except retirees moving to Florida) are more likely to be younger and thus have more kids.
I suspect Florida would be much higher if you measured # NFL players per capita under age 50. Florida's percent population under age 18 is 19.7% (only Maine, Vermont, NH, Massachusetts, and RI are lower; national average 22.2%), the second highest percent population at 21.1% over age 65 (Maine #1, national average 16.8%).
Counting DC, Georgia has the fourth lowest percent population under age 65 at 14.7%. Georgia's percent population under age 18 is 23.4%.
The state with the highest percentage of population under 18 (28.4%), the lowest over age 65 (11.7%), and the highest number of persons per household (3.09, national average 2.60): Utah.

So basically, the only person (marginally) closer to one of the best recruiting grounds in the country was Kirby. Bryan Harsin, WTH were you thinking!?

Go look at Carrollton High’s suites at their HS football stadium! Georgia promotes HS football like Texas and spends money. Coaches can easily make 200k at good programs.

What happened to Cali and Texas? They used to be dominate states as well.

This is per capita so probably Cali and Tx have more

Right...He couldn't be bothered to go to the annual HS coaches award/meeting etc where all coaches go. He sent someone else. Dude was so arrogant that he didn't listen to people. Classic Narcissist

Georgia is 38% black. And one thing Georgia has that is not common in other States is entire neighborhoods and schools of black, married, two income professional families where both mom and dad are college graduates.
So you get these athletes that don’t have to struggle and can afford private coaching and training and expensive travel teams.

This was one of the main complaints about Gus as well but Harsin told Gus to “hold my beer.”
