Who needs the win the most this week of the big four?

1. Alabama - loss to LSU would all but eliminate the Tide from the playoffs;
2. Georgia - would need help to make the playoff as a one-loss team with best win being over Oregon;
3. Tennessee - has strong chance to make the playoffs even with a loss to UGA. Rest of slate is a cakewalk;
4. LSU - already ahead of schedule in Year 1 under Kelly, no pressure to win now.

I'd say this looks correct.

Yeah, I mean in terms of need to stay in the conversation, Alabama.
Otherwise, the top three mentioned won't get realistically sorted until the SECCG, unless some unexpected losses occur along the way.

UGA and UT are similar, but I think UGA needs the win slightly less.
The reality is that the loser is going to be behind the winner in the selection order regardless, and will be fighting with other conference teams for a last spot in more than likely.
The reason UGA has a slight leg up on UT is they actually have a 46 point head to head win over one of those potential teams... Oregon. Oregon with 1 loss will not get in ahead of UGA with one loss in any scenario... because that head to head is too big a difference to ignore.
They could however get in over a 1 loss UT that also lost to UGA.
That's the only real difference between the two losing. Both would be behind other 1-loss conference champions and likely behind a 1-loss Michigan who didn't win their division (though UGA destroying Michigan last year could potentially help there as well, even though it shouldn't).

Yes, Alabama.
UGA and UT are probably in.
LSU is already out.

Alabama by a long shot. We need it more than anyone else. But I'm not expecting it until it happens.
If we lose to LSU though and we're pretty much eliminated, I'll pull for them to make the SEC CG.
If Bama ain't in it, I have to do what everyone else does: pull for the underdog.

I'd say Bama has the most to lose.
Georgia and Tennessee can afford a loss. LSU is basically already eliminated from the playoff and is only playing for a potential upset SEC West title. However, it would not be devestating at all if we don't get that.

Big 4? At 5-2, LSU isn't in the playoff conversation, other than potentially eliminating Bama from consideration. The other 3 all need to win out, which obviously can't happen.
Best case, the SEC gets 2 in the CFP. Three is a pipe dream that even the crack hoes won't hit. If LSU beats Bama & TN beats UGA, the SEC could end up with only one team if the CFP.

If your goal is SEC championship it’s LSU. They’re probably out of playoffs barring a crazy sequence of events.
Alabama is 2nd because a loss eliminates them from playoff.
UGA nor UT need the win other than bragging rights and a mulligan for the playoffs in the event the go undefeated but lose in the SECCG

Big 4? A couple of months ago you LSU fans were saying Alabama has it too easy playing Tennessee every year.

It's kind of odd that everyone is saying LSU is out of the playoff conversation.
At #10 right now, they'd absolutely be in if they win out.
Do I think they'll do that? Hell no, but at this point, they still control their own destiny.

well that's goofy. They can win all the rest of the games including the SEC title (not going to happen) and they'd still have to depend on several other teams losing. In other words, no, they don't control their own destiny to the playoffs.

Makes a “big four” so much more unimpressive if they are in it.
Sad.

Bama by far. If they lose again they're out of the CFP.

Absolutely false.

To be fair, over the last 15 years Tennessee hasn't exactly been very good. So anyone who said that isn't wrong. Having said that, Tennessee is scary now and seems like they'll be a problem for years to come

You really believe they would keep the SEC champion with multiple top 10 wins out of the playoffs??

I think the OP was talking about the 4 teams playing this weekend with the most significant games in the SEC.
