New Contract $1.5m

He was reportedly offered $2M a year to go to Auburn. He turned them down to take $1.5M here.

Was he really offered that much and said nah to that cluster frick? Or were them numbers inflated?

Pay the man. He's been Midas so far, with the exception of getting us out of playing in LR and Jerryworld.

Y'all sure are thrilled he gets a 20% bump to not take a job that's in disarray. Will the athletic department get 20% better results in the future??

I'd say we've gotten 20% better st the big 3 sports since his arrival at least. So pay the man and move on...

It's this kind of thinking that has lead to almost every power 5 program paying out millions of dollars a year to guys that don't coach anymore.

Since HY has been at Arkansas...

Muss hired, the only program in the SEC to reach the highest in the NCAA tourney 2 years in a row. And the 3rd year was a Covid.

Pitt hire, Finally wins an SEC game, actually bowl eligible during an all SEC year. Then win 9 games and a decent bowl, then this season. Competitive overall, just not as good as we want... YET but Good Lord the differences from Bert, Morris, and Smile

DVH is still doing incredible overall, recruiting is phenom.

Facilities are doing very well, as are ticket sales in the big 3.

Softball is unprecedented at Arkansas currently.

Women's Basketball.. Still a watch and see, but better than Dikes and I believe it will continue an upward trend. Voted higher in the SEC than previous years for sure.

T&F... Meh... But we will see.

His passion is unbelievable in how he is handling the Arkansas fan base.

Dude, it is a AD position and we are speaking of 1.5 mill. Not a Jimbo deal.

We should sit on our arse and tell him to be happy with his current salary, which sends the message that we don't appreciate him.

What in the actual blue fricking hell is wrong with you?

He very well might go in the record books as being the best AD we have ever had.

No way to know that, but we are about to have an even larger chunk of SEC revenue every year. Ive heard estimates it could go up 25 million or more annually. He deserves his cut.

Well excuse me, Mrs. Yuracheck.

Unlike most here, I believe it's okay to question fat raises for already handsomely paid members of the Ath. Dept.

Most people don’t believe in giving raises for no reason, but when you have someone another athletic department wants, and you need to keep them, you give them a raise.

The guys getting 1.5 to oversee the largest revenue producers in the program.

Quit your bitching.

Auburn, even in its disarray, got more meaningful natties than we have in the last 20 years.

EATF

Fay this isn't directed at you but at Mason. I'm just to lazy to click reply to his post.

I heard this was Bucknam's last year, but I heard it from a coach at another school, so...

Supposedly word travels fast in their world?? Don't know

ETA: well, the word is that Bucknam is actually retiring. Writing on the wall or not.

It’s pretty simple. You get what you pay for and that’s what a top AD costs.

You wanna be mediocre again….pay that way.
