He claims the hire is coming soon but didn’t give a time table. Maybe the players like Harsin and keeping him as coach prevents the players from outright quitting?

I just don’t see how letting him stay on staff is helping the program.

He doesn’t know shite. None of them do. They just take y’all’s money and talk out of their arse half the time.

They throw out those nuggets on Twitter for free as bait to get people to pay for their “inside” information

Problem is that runs counter to what everyone else has said:

They want to provide some distance between the firing and the AD hire.

Keep moving those goalposts our TD Auburn board insiders were sure he’d be fired today

I get that everyone wants him gone but losing a somewhat hard fought top 10 road game in week 7 of year 2 doesn’t necessarily make the most sense. If we had lost like 48-7 yesterday it would make more sense.

If he didn’t have an overall losing record during his tenure and Mizzouri didn’t gift wrap him a W this season keeping him might be more tolerable

“The latest I’ve heard on Bryan Harsin has been a little bit of change of tenure at Auburn,” Thamel said. “They’re, obviously, amid an AD search — they talked to AD candidates this week. The thought now is that the new AD will come in place and then make a decision on Bryan Harsin and his future. There is less urgency right now to make a move on Harsin than there maybe was a few weeks ago at Auburn. There’s some optics that they’re concerned about at Auburn and they don’t want to look like Auburn being Auburn.”

This is more embarrassing than JABA.
Media has weaponized JABA even for common sense firings too.

Yeah I just a view mid-season firings either being further into a tenure or immediately after some unacceptable result. Not sure right now makes a lot of sense. I’m thinking end of the season feels right unless Arky or Miss State just destroys us

Sadly I fricking believe thamel over our Auburn people

We are stupid as hell to put this shite on an incoming AD. It should be the interims call since he has been here through it all

If it doesn't come from the china cabinet of Montgomery Radio Veteran Darrell Dapprich, then I don't care.

This is really short-term thinking. We shouldn't be firing (or hiring) any coach based on their performance in one game. Harsin has a pattern. He's not wired to win at this level. The PTB know all the behind the scenes/coach/player politics. As soon as they put together the best plan for a new hire, Harsin needs to go.

The delay in firing tells me more that they are waiting until they have another coach lined up to fill the position ASAP. PTB obviously want him gone more than anyone. We are either waiting on a coach who still has a job or no coach wants to touch this place.

No way that I would ever believe that. Coaches at lower tiered programs (with SEC experience of course like Cignetti @ James Madison for example) would jump QUICKLY at that type of salary.

Just a reminder none of these beat writers had a clue about us hiring Harsin. They wanted us to hire Clark who is now retired due to a bad back and Napier who is worse than Harsin. If there was ever a collective group worse than our president's, it is our beat writers.
