I’ve thought 31 has been underwhelming for most of the season, but he was absolutely a non factor today.

What happened?

PS: Will wasn’t the only D lineman who barely showed up.

Yep…he couldn’t do anything no matter who he was lined up on.

He racks up stats against bad competition.

He'll be better in the nfl when he has a competent dc.

Will is still extremely talented. Do I think he is worthy of the #1 overall pick? No, probably not. But I also think he’s being made an exception of the rule on holding a LOT. He’s getting his shirt tugged on more than Harry Styles at the teen choice awards and the refs don’t give a frick.

Will will be a top 3 pick. Our DL was better last season with Mathis than this season. Oatis is our best DL. A true freshman. Our DL is what's holding Will back from having big stats like last season.

When he wasn’t being dropped into coverage or stunting around a delayed HTT blitz he was busy playing pat-a-cake with the tackle.

It would help if our DC used him as an edge rusher more than once a series.

He's still #1. Unfortunately, he is handicapped with a brain dead DC.

I agree regarding scheme and the DC. I think the defense been hit their ceiling with Golding.

The OLB coach that helped Will become the player he was in no longer his coach.

Was the scheme to keep Hooker in pocket and not let him scramble? When you shed block and go after him, he can get away. Whereas when you stay engaged to blocker with arms extended you can prevent him from taking off.

I’m just saying it may not have been Will’s fault as much as yesterday’s game plan.

To this point in the season, Anderson has been the most overrated off-season Alabama player I've ever seen. Multiple media personalities had him winning the Heisman as a defensive player and he's really done next to nothing against any competent opponent so far. He'll probably have more success next week, since Mississippi State never runs and that allows the defensive line to just rush the quarterback every play. Hopefully that gets him in a rhythm to play well against actually good teams.
