From Oxford to Gulf Shores? It's a good 7 hours. I was assuming the OP was wanting to go to an actual beach, not the MS gulf coast.

Harry, it would be an honor for you to consider metro Birmingham, preferably Vestavia Hills.

was in a wedding in Vestavia Hills once my friend

the strip club we found the night before in some section of Birmingham was half a rung better than the Amityville Horror passageway to hell in that basement

About 5ish hours from Oxford to Ocean Springs assuming normal traffic circumstances. Not too bad.

I gave Oxford the benefit of the doubt and gave you the closest beach. More of a Cape guy myself, nice try though.

IIRC, Memphis has no passenger international flights. That changed after NWA was bought by Delta. The international label is for the FedEx super hub and maybe the ANG wing that is based out of there.

We still had a direct to Toronto last I checked

ETA Toronto flight is no longer there but MEM does have Cancun as a nonstop destination still

Always liked that condo building.

I remember a few years ago those condos were around $500,000

Yeah exactly you can get something in the 400k range which isn't bad these days sadly.

I've lived here for sixteen years. It's a great town for a writer.

There are a few creatives in Oxford, and I’m not putting them down. But I wonder why people feel like this. To me, the town looks like a stage set or like something out of a Lands End catalog. And then you have an undergrad community that … doesn’t exactly put individuality above conformity. Not to put them down, and i don’t mean it as an insult. Just confused as to how the town would inspire.
