Seeing what happened at Bama, with Bryce, if, for whatever reason, Beck had to come in, how confident are you in his abilities?
I've liked what I've seen so far, although it is somewhat limited.

He has more talent than Bennett and will definitely look better sometimes, and others he would make bone headed decisions due to inexperience like most I'd imagine

I think the offense would look different but they would score.

Beck has come a long long way in the last 12 months. Hopefully we can get him some meaningful snaps at some point.

He's a fairly decent runner, no?

Yes, I believe he will at least start the beginning of next season and we need the game to slow down for him.

Per sofl, he isn't the type of runner that Monken wants. We aren't recruiting others like him.

That doesn't mean that beck can't be successful.
But it means that beck would be a different style of offense than we would run with Stetson, Brock, or gunner. And that isn't ideal (having to change scheme for the QB)

I think we'd take more shots downfield.

Beck has looked good in limited action.
At 6'4" is more of a pocket passer than Bennett.
I prefer a mobile QB like Bennett but Beck might have performed better vs Missouri considering their defensive strategy in the first half.
Beck has a stronger arm than Bennett and can see over the DL so he should be able to make more accurate passes under pressure.

What meaningful snaps are you looking for Beck to get?

He got play quite a bit this season in the first few games and looked light years better than he did last year. I’d be comfortable if he had to step in.

With how they've played the last two games, there wont be to many games left for him to get playing time.

Should have been the last two games. Those really should have been blow outs and we should have been able to get him and the other QBs some time in 3rd and 4th.

Are those considered meaningful?

If so, we’ve gotten him meaningful snaps in 3 different games this year.

Which most likely means that if Monken stays he won't see much action

You could have said that about Stetson (who was told by monken that he literally would never play when he was 4th string summer 2020).

Or when he was 3rd string in summer 2021 getting equal reps as 4th string Brock vandagriff.

Best guy plays. Right now, beck is in the lead. But gunner is making plays on scout. It will be a good 3 way battle this offseason.

I think Gunnar has more of a chance to win the job than some will think but Beck is probably the favorite and I think he’s do well. I know folks have said BVG has made strides but he just looks kinda discombobulated to me whenever he actually gets in. Should be fun to watch play out.

True. Going forward should/could get some against Auburn, Vandy and GT.

Beck seems to have a lot of talent but hard to say how he would react if he got pushed into a pressure situation. If our OL plays like it did against Missouri the rest of the way Bennett could get injured and maybe we will see this year. Beck seems like his on track to start next year. I haven't heard much about Brock but seems like he is likely to transfer.
