Did Woodward get real upset and say something?
I dont know if he was quoted but it was reported that LSU officials including Woodward were pretty upset. It had to do with this being one of two premium games for LSU season ticket holders and LSU had a monster recruiting weekend planned. They lobbied for the 2:30 timeslot and allgedly it was supported by SEC office.
People complain about the cost of tickets and a top tier game comes along and the rug gets yanked. Tailgating and other social vending is impacted by LSU home games heavily.

This game ALWAYS ranks among the season's top 10 most watched games
I went back to 2018 & GA vs. Aubie isn't in the top 10 games watched in any of those years.

CBS wants the #1 team on any time possible. That's why UGA is going to be on at 2:30. It's really that simple.
Bingo. The OP went into detail about tradition, viewership, rivalry..........yada yada.
They chose Georgia Auburn for the exact reason you stated. UGA is # 1 right now. IF LSU or Tennessee was # 1 it wouldve been flip flopped. Also apparently Georgia schedule is pure shite the rest of the way too, so that helped them make the decision.

Last three years (could have gone back further but no use really) GA vs Aubby was not a top 10 regular season viewed game. You probably need to walk back “always” and say maybe top 20 or 30 game. Up to you.
As far as tradition, GA vs FL is tradition. Aubby, not so much in the national eye.
And GA does not always our view LSU. Usually depends on which team in better. In 2019, it was all LSU. Year in and year out? That goes to Bama, 100%.
Only reason the game is on is GA is ranked top 5 and defending champ and that is reason enough.

Uga having so many more day games deflates our numbers.

All game will suck.
Bama blows out A&M.
Georgia blows out Auburn.
Tennessee blow out LSU.

2022 ratings so far by week.
22 Viewer ratings by week.
Tennessee has been a better draw through 4 weeks than UGA.

Uga was espn + only for week 4.

Look at the railings for each week in the link. UT has had more viewer ship than UGA this year. UT vs UF and UT vs Pitt was 2 of the most viewed games for those weeks.

Geez the OP is getting taking to the woodshed in this thread.

There's also this:
Neither Tennessee, nor LSU have played any 12:00 (Eastern) games this season. Georgia has played two, Auburn has played one. Here are the noon kickoffs so far for SEC schools:
Tennessee - 0
LSU - 0
Ole Miss - 0 (1st scheduled for Oct 1st)
Florida - 0 (1st 2 scheduled for Oct 1st, now moved to Sunday the 2nd, and Oct 8th)
Auburn - 1
Bama - 1
MSU - 1 (2nd scheduled for Oct 8th)
Kentucky - 1 (2nd scheduled for Oct 1st)
aTm - 1
Vandy - 1
Georgia - 2
Missouri - 2 (3rd scheduled on Oct 8th)
USCe - 2 (3rd scheduled for Oct 1st but moved to last night)
11 PM Eastern time kick-off (priceless) .... MSU = 1 and we're still trying to recover from that crap

Does it say that Uga had the highest game between the 2 teams?

Your absolutely wrong. CBS gets to pick first and third. ESPN gets the second pick.
No they don't. CBS is the SEC's broadcast partner and has all first dibs. If they decided to air 3 games then CBS would pick the 3 and then it would go to ESPN's pick.

LSU has been a much bigger national draw and has a bigger national TV fan base and ratings that Georgia over last twenty years bro and it’s freaking not even close. Even when we suck LSU Bama is a top 10 game right now and I think the LSU -Florida State game was one of top rated games of the season.
Travel around the country or even world and count the hats or T-shirts bro. I see LSU shite everywhere, even in California I saw tons, some bama but rarely ever Georgia.
You one one freaking Natty in 50 years we have 3 in the last 20. You have good reason to be excited about direction of the program but seriously dude chill a bit and quit acting like a faggie

cbs picked Georgia because they want to get the high ranked team on tv and Georgia's schedule is pretty crappy. these 2 teams play each other every year. I think LSU Tennessee has more interest but they wanted #1 GA
