Didn't Mizzou give up like 40 to K state? Must have been a weird game
Posted on 9/28/22 at 10:13 pm to Robot Santa
I don't disagree the way we've played on the road recently.
But on paper we should be a match-up nightmare for Arkansas.
We are very hard to run on and the run game is their strength. Their pass defense is garbage and we are a passing offense.
It shouldn't be close but who knows.

Yep, but K-State only had 335 yards of offense and Missouri had 4 turnovers plus 7 of K-States 40 was a punt return TD.

there lies the anamoly ..
we are (inconsistent) passing offense and cant get 3 yds running when we have to ...
carryover from last year (the running part)
fixing that would help define identity

Please.
Our defense can’t tackle. At all.
Alabama’s perimeter passing game will feast on our D’s inability to tackle in space. Young will have at least one tunnel screen or bubble screen that goes for a long TD.
Our pass D isn’t great, but YAC yards are what’s really killing us statistically.

Gibbs on your LBs is the matchup I would be most concerned with but we don’t have Jameson Williams or John Metchie to terrorize your safeties this year.
Jefferson is going to have to run to move the chains but there are passes to be had over the middle if he can get some protection from your OL.

Agreed. The problem for us, though, is that while KJ throws a great deep ball, his accuracy and touch on throws over the middle is pretty poor, notably on middle crossing routes.
The main problem with KJ right now is between the ears. He can be electrifying at times, but his ball security has been a weakness this year, and I think his confidence is shaky. He’s had three lost fumbles already (including that backbreaker on the goal line against A&M that was a 13 point swing), and that doesn’t even include another one against Missouri State where he almost had a touchback fumble when he was stretching for the end zone.

I’m simultaneously extremely confident in Alabama in a potential UGA matchup and nervous as hell about playing Arkansas
