I'm wondering if his kids had a lot to do with his decision. Can't fault him for doing what's best for his kids. I did read they wanted to stay in Oxford

No, the Jon guy didn't ruin the Kiffin hire. We're talking tens of millions of dollars here. That's not going to get derailed by a simple Twitter post. But my gut feeling in light of Lane's comments is, I don't think Kiffin has been offered the job. Matter of fact I don't know that anyone has been offered the job, yet. I think one of two scenarios is likely:
1) Kiffin got a look but was never a primary target, despite the media flurry saying he was
2) Kiffin may have been a primary target at one point, but we've moved on to other things. If we did, I can assure you that had little to do with Jon's post, and more to do with maybe Lane don't look so good after all (or, someone else looks better)

That’s my angle on this … dumb decision considering Oxford is 50 steps below Auburn in every measure but kids gonna make dumb decisions

He’s already had 15 meetings to tell them he’s staying lol! He told reporters last night he’s staying, this is not another meeting to keep telling guys he’s staying. Prob just an end of year meeting or stay safe traveling home type deal.
