Not about football.

Thought you guys would enjoy this. My work shop is on Cortez road here in south Florida. Fairly busy road. The white building on the right is where my shop is. Top floor.

Last week my son and I were working and this car crashed through our front lawn. A bus stopped and I guess she didn’t see it so she veered right and went through our grass

She took out all the signs, benches and poles then hit the embankment at 43rd st and jumped over a car to land back on her wheels. She went across the median, took out all the road signs, came back across the street, drove to the next red light, hit 3 more cars before her car died and they arrested her

My son, who is autistic and loves monster trucks, was working in the back room and saw it all. He came up front and told me a car just flew by his window like a monster truck. I thought he was kidding.

Apparently someone on the road had a video of it and gave it to our HOA president

Fun times in Cortez. This is a crazy place to work. Hope you are all well.

Duke boys at it again.

Reminds me of an incident that happened at my house a couple of months ago.

Wife was out of town on a trip, and I went to dinner with some friends. When I turned onto my street to head home, I was greeted with about 10 cop cars, all with lights flashing, and one of them half-parked in my driveway. I pulled in, and heard a buzzing sound overhead, and noticed a drone flying overhead. I went inside, and about 5 minutes later I got a knock on the door, and was greeted by two of CSPD's "finest". They informed me they were on a manhunt, and they thought that the man had jumped my fence into my backyard and was hiding. I let them in so they could get in the backyard (our fence gates are shite) and right before they walked out the back door, they pulled their guns.

They didn't find him, and then left. I reviewed my security cameras, and watched as a man ran down the street while a car rapidly accelerated backwards, then stopped, and then drove off with an extra passenger in said car, right as a CSPD car raced past them.

I sent the video to one of the officers who came in my house. I never heard if they caught the guy.

That's awesome.

We finally bought out the space beside us. We've been doing store expansion all summer and haven't had much time for fishing. Exciting and scary all at the same time. My wife is slowly conquering the world via the kiddie store.

Looking at houses and trying to downsize. Convinced we will never find the house my wife wants.

You can forget about finding the house your wife wants. That task is impossible. So you do what I did.

We are just in a waiting mode here. After 6 years of looking at over 100 houses here, we ended up building a new one. Started in June, should be ready in March. New neighborhood in Sarasota.

Sometimes I wonder why the hell I try to plan things at all. Had a plan for 10 years. Worked it to a “T” for 9 years and 364 days, then just totally fricked it up. Wanted to buy a used house so I could pay cash, didn’t happen. Saved for all that time so I wouldn’t have a mortgage, didn’t happen. Wanted to stop working , not happening. WTF

Already rented for a year as of this month. Will rent 6 more months till the new house is ready. Then try and figure how my old arse will pay for this new place that I paid twice as much for as I had saved.

I guess you only live once and nobody will get anything when I die.

This is where we are now. Waiting on roof inspection so they can wrap and tile the roof, then start on internal mechanicals

Undefeated, world heavy weight champ!

We actually had an offer on a lot we loved. Damn city of Irondale shite all over that idea for us. We will keep looking.

The fricking housing market is an absolute shitshow.

We bought a house last year, and we got super lucky because A: we went to an open house and liked it, B: it was on Easter weekend, C: our realtor put together our bid on Easter Sunday, and D: they decided on Monday since they only had 2 bids.

I am having to deal with more "politics" and "government" stuff than I have in the past now. It really is no fun and some of it just seems stupid. There is absolutely no reason for some of the red tape other than money

Good luck. It is frustration looking. I think it is better now than it was when I was looking earlier this year. I got so frustrated I was ready to just live on the boat. We would have a list of 15 houses to go and look at on a Saturday from Fridays listings and all were either sold or under contract before we would get there. infuriating.
I am honestly not sure if this house will end up being our last house or just one we live in for 5 years then sell and move on. Not sure yet

That's all because of the investing firms/agencies going in and putting in offers way above list, with no contingencies about inspections/improvements.

We had a house that our realtor told us about before it hit the market. Wasn't listed anywhere. She called us and we left within 3 hours to drive to Sarasota after work to see it. When we got there, we loved it. 2500sq ft. Pool, outdoor kitchen, fricking perfect. I told them we wanted it and I would call the realtor that night and set up our contract at full asking price.

The next day I got a call from our realtor and the house had been sold. Ended up another realtor, best friends with my realtor, bought the house. I found out a week later and sent our realtor packing. I wanted to kill her arse
