Isn't Florida a hotbed for recruits?

It only has been since the 80s dipshit. Coincidentally (sarcasm) Florida schools began doing very well Once the instate talent took off. Imagine that! This is very well documented stuff too Lol dude you don’t know shite do you? Texas had far more population and far more high school football recruits in the 60s and 70s then Georgia or Florida did lol this is dumb you clearly don’t know shite.

Alabama won, despite having 100 yards in penalties.

100 yards. Is that all?

I'm afraid this game was less to do with how improved Texas is and more todo with how overrated Alabama is. They don't have the same talent in the trenches on either side of the ball that they enjoyed in all of the years prior to 2021.
They are a pass first offense with not one big play receiver. They have a bunch of at best possession type receivers who are no threat to make tacklers miss and take it to the house.
Texas DBs looked more athletic than the Bama receivers and covered them easily.
In fact, the overall talent between the two programs looked about the same. I wish the WR Worthy was on Bama's roster. He would easily be the best by far in the WR group.

This game was essentially Bryce Young bailing Alabama and BOB again with backyard plays. It reminded me a lot of the Auburn game from last year.

Well, yeah. They don't get called for PI most of the time when they are interfering. Not their fault the refs turn a blind eye to blatant penalties.

I don't blame Bama for coaching their players that way. It's on the league to govern. They won't because it's Saban.

One other by-product of that concept is that it looked like Texas ate up some valuable clock as time was running down before the half (as I recall) where Bama got called on back-to-back PI's. Could be wrong but it seemed that they didn't put that time back on the clock. Texas ran out of time and was limited on play options as a result. lol

That's irrelevant. People can diss on Sarkisian all they want to, but apparently he has successfully dealth with the alcohol issues, and he is absolutely one of if not the very best play callers in college football. He's also a very good qb coach and recruiting is also going well.

Unfortunately I think he's turning that program around.

Sark had a great game plan and adjusted very well after his main QB went down and the 2nd QB was playing injured. I thought his plan to shorten the game worked very well and they nearly pulled it off.
I thought GP had a great game plan but I did not understand the semi prevent defense they went to late in the game. It left the middle of the field underneath the coverage open for 1st downs.

There was no safety. Bama QB wasn't down. Still, the refs were doing everything they could to make that play go Bama's way.

No dog in this hunt but obviously you have never had a down by contact ruling controversy where it is explained to you ad nauseum by the rule expert. I didnt see what the game pundits said but if you go back to 2018 aTm LSU definitions then Young was down by two separate defined touches with Planet Earth. Ankle is down. Wrist is down. Dont matter if it just brushed the top of the grass - grass is terra firma.

So in summary the REC gotcha…

And if it's deflected, then it's automatically not intentional grounding for the most part. The ball deflected off a Texas players helmet, so it was the correct call.

Citation needed, but you will never have one. Not a single Alabama fan has been able to point out where this is in the rules. I assume y'all can read?

It doesn't say it in the NCAA rulebook specifically.

Just scoreboards mainly. I like when the number beside our name is bigger than the number beside the other name.

If Texas joins the SEC next season, with our young o-line getting another year of experience, Quinn Ewers will more than hold his own.

The problem I have with this is doing it again and again which EVERYONE has to do in the SEC.

Winning a big game at home then traveling to a cold late October game in Arkansas or going to Auburn's voodoo stadium when they are on hot streak. Dealing with the crazy folks in Red stick at night the SEC is terror dome.

It's common sense. If the ball immediately and materially changes direction by a tip you can't assume where the ball was going, how far it would have gone or whether a receiver would have been able to get near the throw.

There was a receiver standing on that side of the field literally on the 2 yard line coming back towards him as he threw the ball in his direction. The ball hit the guys helmet and bounced directly sideways from its intended direction, which was towards the RB (McClellan) running back to him from the 2 yard line.

You can just look at how his arm was moving. The way he threw it there was no fricking way it was going to land in the vicinity of #2. The REC came through for y'all.

The ball literally hits the big dudes head because its moving forward It would have landed at about the goal line which is within 2-3 yards of where McClellan was.

We calling intentional grounding for throws 3-5 yards away from receivers now? A&M is going to have 10 penalties a game on that alone

You guys will shite up when you lose to a unranked team or two. Just like in 19 you played your best game against LSU and then it was downhill

When they're not even throwing in the direction of the receiver, sure.

When you're throwing down the field and miss 3-5 yards, at least your arm is moving in the direction of the receiver. It's like trigonometry?
