Where was the downfield passing?

I don't care if the WRs weren't getting seperation, you need to take shots (like Texas did that resulted in the DEF PI calls).
Also, we need to re-introduce the RPO slants in this offense.

I think this may be the most important thing. We don't have a home run threat. So the defense compresses down.
We had it all over the field in 2020. And with Williams last year.
We are definitely missing experienced/elite WR play at the moment.
However--Bryce just doesn't seem to have the touch on the deep balls that Tua/Mac did. That doesn't help either.

We haven't taken a deep shot either game. Concerning to say the least. We have guys with speed...if they aren't ever getting open our OC isn't doing a good enough job to scheme them open. BOB has been a big, fat bust as an OC thus far IMO.

It doesn’t help that Bryce is running for his life more often than not. You can’t call a deep route if you can’t give the WR enough time to run the route before protection breaks down.

We know BoB is terrible, juries still out if any of these receievers have anything at all. It's certainly not looking great... But it's possible.

Down field throws require 3-4 seconds…he doesn’t get 3-4 seconds.

I think we need more short and intermediate passing.
