Is the AP drunk? In that poll, they show that Bama, Michigan, and A&M lost

I think Florida deserves to be a top 15 team. However, the point can be made that many voters moved Florida up so high because, for some reason, AP voters love to over-inflate the value of Utah, and this is the only way to come them in the top 15 as well.

And here comes the media hype for Michigan and USC.

They both get bumped 4 spots for doing what everyone else did to bad teams.

So AU is picked to be last in the west. And after a single game (where State looked better than AU) we are getting more votes that State? AP is a joke.

I think it’s more that it’s Florida.

Both. SP+ has Florida at 19 and Utah at 24.

To be fair, it should bump up a lot given UK's suspensions.

I think it's fine, subject to my usual complaint about early season polls. Ideally, you'd have so much shuffling that by Weeks 3-5 you have what should have been your Week 1 poll, and you go from there. At that point you can start to factor in things like "well, we know this team is pretty good and we expect their resume to bear that out eventually." Doing that in Week 1 or 2 is stupid.

Hence, ND probably shouldn't be anywhere close to the top 10. I think teams like NC State should very likely drop out when their only resume item for a top 20 ranking is a 1 point win vs. ECU.

If I had been a voter I would have had Georgia at Nunber 1 and Alabama at 2!

I would too, and not just because I'm a homer. Performance was great for both teams, but one was playing #11 (was a shitty ranking to being with) and the other was playing nobody. Coin flip goes to Georgia for the #1 vote. Lots of football to play but a week1
(2) vote you have to give it to Georgia. Or hell, Oh State.

The yankee AP media is so stupid and biased. Notre Dame loses and drops from 5-8. (ND loses and drop from 5-8)
Michigan jumps from 8 to 4.

TAM stays at 6.

Georgia absolutely demolishes #11 OR on the road in every facet of the game and moves up one spot.

Not trolling my Bama or GA buds, I just dont understand why GA is not #1.

If we somehow upset Arkansas, they'll rank South Carolina 25th so it'll be a Top 25 matchup against Georgia

Seen it before with clemson

Short answer? It's the first game. Oregon might not be as good as many thought. As the season moves along and we start gettign a better feel for how good everybody is, then the rankings will correct themselves. On Paper, Alabama brings back a ton of talent and they have stayed near or at the top longer, so they get the benefit of the doubt. It'll work itself out, or prove to be the right decisions.

Agreed. I was thinking 21-25 range. Coaches poll at 19 makes more sense to me.
